It is a computer generated model, and granted they are always made to look better than the reality, but the new plans for the Blackfriars End look pretty good. View AttachmentThey've even used a realistice image of CBB in his trench coat and flat cap with Barney stood by him! Modern technology, where will it end?

Standing at a particularly jaunty angle.
“Eeeh. These modern footballers. What are they like with their Ronex watches and Tyler Swift records. Erm. ‘Appen”

I think they have unwittingly revealed that it will be for "away" fans.

I saw the other day that Stig mentioned the Blackfriars End again. He is great at communicating.
I think he said that he HFC have given the council a wish list of what we would like to end up with if possible.
I was having a think about that. I reckon if you had an elevated stand you could just about get away with 8 rows of seats. With a 750mm seat tread that would be a 6m wide version of the undercroft of the main stand. Just enough space to get loos food and booze outlets along its length. Plus space for people to congregate, plus a decent run up to allow MT to do penguin slides in the inevitable spilt beer.
If you had 3m in front of the stand for access and half decent disabled facilities (so the roof extending to the front wall), I reckon 9m would just about do it.
I think it is a minimum of 25m of space at the main stand end, approx. 30m at the Edgar Street end. Therefore that would leave 16m for the main development. Plenty of room for two bays of flats/rooms and a central corridor (although I am not sure what the football ground side will do for light in the lower floors).
Anything over 9m would obviously result in more capacity/more spacious facilities/higher build costs.
Anything less than 9m would be a compromise. That would be the rough tipping point. Not sure where the spectator facilities would go if less than that without pinching a bit of ground floor space in the adjacent development.
We want the stand to say football league ideally.
I appreciate I am massively dreaming and we will probably end up with next to bugger all, which is fair enough.

I heard that they are planning to put an area in the student accommodation where there will be several sofas and a tv. So that our armchair fans can come to the game and still think they’re at home. So when the comment goes “where you there” they can say yes.

OK Lightning, you’ve given us the fag apcket spec, now do it up properly - spec materials etc and give us a price. I’ll check against BCIS Tender Indices just to be sure……

The stand is already there if they are careful 😃.
Costing stuff isn't my strong point, and that as you have previously highlighted will almost certainly dictate everything.
Will be the most interesting/vital off the pitch event since the formation of the club. Especially if you factor in the potential leases.
I think it is fair to say that it is the future of the club, certainly at ES.

Turn left along Widemarsh Street to (13) Blackfriars Rose Garden and the only surviving example in the county of a Preaching Cross. It was built in the 14th century in conjunction with the Blackfriars Monastery on land given to the order by Sir John Daniel; he was beheaded for interference in baronial wars during the reign of Edward III. Here, also, are the remains of the Dominican Friars Monastic buildings founded in about 1276. The church on site was consecrated in the presence of Edward, his son the Black Prince and three archbishops. The order was later dissolved by Henry VIII.

Just noticed this Mr Lightning. FFC are copping a fair bit of stick for their match day prices, justifiably I would say. On the flip however, the season tickets are actually pretty good value, just over £30 a match in the plebs seating. And one thing the premier league have got right is a flat £30 a head for any away fan at any fixture. Although you need a lot of loyalty points for most matches. Apparently.

As someone already mentioned, something like this at Bromley would be great. Stig will have done well if he gets 11 rows of seats out of the council. There will be four storeys of flats looming over Hereford's new stand as well, so it won't look quite like that. I'm thinking more along the lines of a small version of the end at Leyton Orient.

I think if you were at Brackley today (or have been in the past), if you work on them drop in stands as a starting point, anything better than that and we have had a result.
There is half a grounds worth of facilities needed whatever is decided (even in the short term).

Could be five storeys, though I don't think the idea of penthouse-style apartments is being taken forward at the moment.
I hear there's a nice article with pictures coming up on BN today, for those of you who are interested.

It needs a glass fronted gym on the first floor overlooking the supermarket car park. So all the shoppers coming out with their overloaded shopping 🛒 can have a twinge of guilt.

How many more artists will be taking pen to paper or is it just this first one?
