What a good thought Vorno. Just checked EFL pitch width requirement which is 50 yards, ES listed as 76. Just proves that a bit of creative thinking could be applied…. If only.

FA recommends 'senior' pitches should be 110 yds x 70 yds.

50yds? You sure?FA Recommended for U14's is 55yds! Interestingly this could be right. It would appear that the FA allows considerable allowances in the size of senior (professional) pitches, these being 100 - 130 yds long X 50 - 100 yds wide although the standard seems to be 115 yds x 75 yds. If, as cebull says, the Edgar St. pitch is listed as 76 yds wide then Vorno's suggestion to reduce this enough to see what is happening on the touchline is worth considering. Admittedly, some teams prefer a wide pitch to suit their mode of play but surely this shouldn't be to the detriment of the supporters viewing of the game?

Yep - imagine a standard 6 yard length skip - it’s not unsubstantial in relation to giving a bit more footprint to the Len Weston - and yep, a view of the touchline for the guys upstairs.
Labour, Materials, etc taking a massively wild guess of around £40/50k ?
Just came to mind seeing as BE is being done and a good time to do it?
Probably add a couple of hundred to the capacity too - essentially for building a new wall. Obvs not quite as simple as that but you get my drift.

I see the below on BN. I don't know if anyone from HUST the club is on here, but this will be the first major change to the ground in approx 35 years, and probably the first time we have had to say goodbye to anything significant since the main stand moved across the pitch (not literally) in the 1960s. As a potential money spinner, and to give people who have a lot of memories of the Blackfriars End (including myself) a chance to say goodbye, could an event maybe be considered? I can even contact Martin Brain if people think there would be interest. We could have scran and some old players up in the function room and a chance to have an escorted last look round a stand that oozes character and quirks. Phototastic. I guess the main barriers would be interest (easy to gauge), and H&S. It isn't so dangerous that you cannot walk around it though looking at it. There could be groups going round with someone from from the organisers anyway. EDIT: plus permission from the council. Forgot it ain't ours. The council could get some good PR out of it. They deserve credit for getting it moving when not exactly awash with cash. What do you reckon? bullsnews.blogspot.com/2024/03/demolition-of-cracked-overgrown-and.html?m=1

All to wear standard issue B&W hard hats, that's if the club can source some large enough hats for some.

No PPE needed IMO. Unless there is some proper dodgy stuff on the ground.

Nothing to do with PPE, I'm just a bit weird.

Not sure why it's thought necessary to retain the "iconic" floodlight pylons. Surely it would be better to replace them with a modern set?

Get rid I say. Those pylons are to do with some other club..... Hereford United was it?

Can’t be that bad if they allow the ball boys in there on match days. Unless of course the ball boys are replaceable.
