I see they only conceded two at Tottenham. Thought somehow they must have axed him.
Where's little Urn?

I think Albion have seen the light at last. O'Shea not involved in the draw with Man United. Part of the worst Albion defence of all time. Alistair Robertson and John Wile can stop looking from behind the sofa.

Comfortably the highest rated Baggies player tonight on the BBC website, but WTF do they know? 7.05 vs a next best of 6.1, that’s nothing.

Watched the West Brom v Newcastle today. West Brom had so many chances but ruined with dire finishing. O'Shea had a solid display in the centre at the back with an old head alongside him in Bartley. Impressed with his performance in this relegation battle. Poor game overall.

Impressed with his performance in this relegation battle. Poor game overall. You clearly haven't read the memo. The lad's season ended a month ago, but if he were to sneak a game, can't defend to save his ar5e.

Danny Bartley is certainly an old head. 73 in fact.

There was a nice little article about Dara in the paper this weekend about how his spell with us toughened him up and made him ready to face playing at a higher level. “WEST BROM defender Dara O’Shea always loved the rough and tumble of sport. But he learned a lesson in the school of hard knocks in one of his first games of men’s football. O’Shea moved from Dublin to join the West Brom Academy when he was 16 and at 18 went on loan to seventh-tier Hereford FC. The Ireland star said: “In my second or third match, before the game I remember the opposition manager calling the striker over and saying, ‘He’s a young lad, get into him’. “Five minutes later we were defending a free-kick and I was setting up our line. The next thing I know I got a swift elbow to the face and was on the floor.“ I realised, ‘OK, I’m in with the big boys now. I need to toughen up or else I’m going to be eaten alive. From then on, I put a tough tackle in the very first opportunity I could, just to prove to these lads I wasn’t going to be a pushover at such a young age.”
But growing up as a star of Gaelic football and hurling, he was able to handle himself. O’Shea said: “Hurling is not as dangerous as Gaelic. In hurling, the closer you get to someone, the less likely you are going to get hurt, as mad as that sounds. In Gaelic there’s more bad injuries and bad tackles. I was one of the taller ones so I was well able to handle myself. It was a side of sport I enjoyed.”
O’Shea soon came to terms with the physical demands of senior football. He helped Hereford win promotion to the National League North and then enjoyed a successful season in League Two with Exeter. O’Shea made his league debut for West Brom in December 2019 and was a regular in the final third of their promotion season. The Baggies face Newcastle today and this campaign has been the biggest education for O’Shea. He said: “This season I’ve learned the most. It’s tough mentally. You can’t get too high on good results, and too down on bad results. You must keep a level head. All it takes is a couple of results to put our season back on track.”
Take the hit, pick yourself up, and go again — just like O’Shea did on that day for Hereford. www.thesun.ie/sport/football/6666120/ireland-dara-oshea-gaa-background-toughened-him-up/

So funny! Wain couldn't resist looking up Wiki for Bartley. It's common knowledge that Bartley is 73, was born in Paulton and played for Trowbridge 1983-??.

O'Shea 6. The Times.
"Bruce broke the club's transfer record by bringing possibly the worst Brazilian footballer who ever existed for £40 million. That would be Joelinton, described by his manager as an "unorthodox" centre forward in that he a) doesn't score goals or b) make them or c) venture too close to the penalty box. He has contributed 3 goals in 58 appearances." The Sunday Times.
"In the 11th minute Willock clipped a lovely through-ball down Newcastle's right channel and Joelinton had the speed to outpace Dara O'Shea........" The Times.

Perhaps O'Shea was so confident that Joelinton would neither score nor create a goal that he wasn't that concerned about matching his pace.
Given the final score, he got that about right I reckon.
