Agreed, WEst Brom looked so much stronger in defence with his return. Goalkeeper giving the game away in the final minutes was heartbreaking.

Wales v Ireland next week. He may get another go at having to mark Bale.

Didn't really mark Bale!!! Spent more time trying, unsuccesfully in the end, to prevent Kane scoring. Definitely had a good game though. WW eat your heart out!

Axed by struggling Albion. No surprise there, then.

Axed by struggling Albion. No surprise there, then. Would you concede however, that getting a decent contract and multiple games at a Prem club, and playing at full international level, is a grade or two up from your assessment of a couple of years back? PS. You're very very wrong about Chris Woakes also.

You and several chums seem, frequently, to remember reading something which wasn't written in the first place. So, no.

The man is a high-octane batsmen.

Dara is only 21. He has made his debut for his country this year.Bilic rates him highly and says he has a great future. We actually saw him play week in week out at Hereford. You could see he had great potential even then. I wish him well.

In his days at HFC, did you see Dara reaching the level he’s currently at? At 21, or ever?

I trust you all saw the statistics relating to his long passing in The Times yesterday? Very decent player who will find himself in a suitable midfield role at Fleetwood or some such place.
Our 68-year-old cricketing chum has gone strangely quiet.

Has anbyone been following the cricket? England have cobbled together a 6 match T20/One day tour to South Africa. It is a strange one, both teams play themselves in the warm ups, although SA have just cancelled one due to COVID. First game on Friday if it goes ahead.
I suppose we should be grateful for all these sports trying to keep going, something is better than nothing I suppose.
I don't think it adds to the spread of the virus too much when compared to some of the other stuff that goes on.

Root is trying to play his way into the T20 squad, it seems.

Wonderful test batsman, in or close for the fifty over stuff, keep him away from the slog fest.

We know that prominent members of this forum like to railroad the narrative. Have you done some revision on his passing statistics? Or are you going to start showing off like you do in the stand?

Haven’t shown off much of late, tbfl.

Haven’t shown off much of late, tbfl. You have called me Boris twice? Is that not an ad hominem? Obviously it was possible that Mr O'Shea could play for West Bromwich Albion. That is the club from whom he was on loan at Edgar Street. Flipping heck. Anyway, for the resumption in your education: As of yesterday morning, before he was axed, Dara O'Shea was the leading long passer in the Premier League. 30.1% of his passes were hit long, of which 48.1% were accurate. Clearly, he is a good passer of the ball, which has always been perfectly obvious. He is a constructive player. Most of those long passes have been made from the right full back position. West Brom have only deployed wing backs in four games. None of those long passes has led to a goal. West Brom have conceded more goals than any other team in their league in the matches he has played in. He is a decent header of the ball, despite his lack of inches, quick-footed and quick-thinking, but he is not defensively commanding in the air and a very moderate tackler. He would be better deployed in midfield, or as a wing back. His passing might hurt the opposition in those positions. Oh, and he doesn't seem to have a beard or an alice band, which are further bonuses. Fleetwood is handy for home and I don't think Fishguard have got a team.
