O'Shea 6. The Times. "Bruce broke the club's transfer record by bringing possibly the worst Brazilian footballer who ever existed for £40 million. That would be Joelinton, described by his manager as an "unorthodox" centre forward in that he a) doesn't score goals or b) make them or c) venture too close to the penalty box. He has contributed 3 goals in 58 appearances." The Sunday Times. "In the 11th minute Willock clipped a lovely through-ball down Newcastle's right channel and Joelinton had the speed to outpace Dara O'Shea........" The Times. And yet still he is selected. Big Sam must have switched off the fax machine, no other explanation. I wouldn't pick him for the Three Counties Skittles team, let alone a Premiership football club. Let alone with bells on, an international side. Can't wait for the cricket season, keep 'em coming wain.

Quite a good scrap developing over that last relegation place.

Anyone know how this guy got on tonight?
I think he was in line to play for Eire against one international minnow or another so he may have made a name for himself and got his name on the scoresheet.

WBA just conceded a shocker when 2-1 up with the clock ticking past 90 at Villa. They are probably down anyway but it would have been a dagger through the heart of their fans obviously.
O'Shea had just come on! Nothing to do with him mind.

I thought O'Shea must have come on when I heard Alisson had scored a header. It'll be fecking Tracey next week.

Simon Tracey. Good keeper in the 90s.
Here to help.

Now that he's shot of O'Shea for six months you would have thought Frank Skinner and that preposterous woman with him would have warmed to a proper insight into Wordsworth and Coleridge on the road.
It was all about him, wasn't it?
What a tw@t.

Frank Skinner, known solely for being a Baggies supporter, and Denise Mina are now somehow experts on the trail of Wordsworth and Coleridge. Whilst reciting WW's "We Are Seven" the former suggested that the poem had its genesis somewhere on the road in Somerset. It was, in fact, conceived at one of your father's favourite places - Goodrich. You can see the home of the cottage girl who inspired it if you stand on a grave (with the family's permission) in Goodrich Churchyard.

Did Dara O'Shea play him onside?

Did Dara O'Shea play him onside? I should make it clear, perhaps, that the WW to whom I refer in my previous post is not myself. Taller than O'Shea he was on loan to Goodrich in 1798.

Thanks for the explanation which turned out to be of interest. Extraneous reference to O'Shea threw me - as intended I would guess.
Kind Regards

It is arguable that I was being somewhat mischievous.
PS. O'Shea is out for six months - thus proving he can't defend to save his ass.

That is fantastic to see. How did he get on? WBA are having a torrid time at the moment. One point in the last 6 games.

Hooked at half-time with the score goalless. Full time: West Brom 0 Swansea 2.
One wonders how long it might take for the Albion board to "work it out" in regard to Steve Bruce.

I see O'Shea was back in for the 4-0 drubbing at Forest.
"Let's go down with Dara, la-la-la-lah..."

I see O'Shea was back in for the 4-0 drubbing at Forest. "Let's go down with Dara, la-la-la-lah..." Yes, he was 'back in'. That said, Forest scored all four of their goals after Furlong had been dismissed for a second yellow just 17 minutes into the game. To me that suggests the biggest factor was neither the inclusion of O'Shea nor the appointment of Bruce but more the stupidity of Furlong.
