Thought we would need to take 6 points from this run of three away fixtures to remain as serious play off contenders, crucial we win this one. May well come down to the injury situation, is Caddis fit now?

I’m going for a smash and grab 2-1 win.
Cowley and Williams channelling their inner Bannister and Warboys..
But as I’m wrong every time, don’t take that as in any way likely to happen.

An ugly 0-1 win and a rare clean sheet; that will do.

Having lived at 417B Stapleton Road in 73-74, opposite Eastville Stadium and the Black Swan Inn, I can tell you they were also pretty cavalier in there.

1-2, hopefully. And I'll be there to witness what I'm sure will be a footballing masterclass.

My first ever away game was at Eastville. 1-1 draw Sept 1973. The only away game I ever persuaded my Dad to take me to. Sat very close to the Billys proper

Very tough game tonight on a very unpredictable pitch against a team who have scored alot of goals of late. I’m not quite at the must win stage yet as they say 70pts has been the magic number for play offs the previous 7-8yrs (Chester’s managers words).
Win our 5 home games and we make the 70 mark. How easy ha. Injuries and lack of depth are worrying but in the next week or 2 we will hopefully see a return of Obadeyi Tex Mendes and a fully fit Ceesay.
Let’s get a positive result tonight and capitalise on the double home header against play off contenders Chorley and Alfreton.
3-0 win Williams Cowley Phillips

Points targets history needs to take into account 46 games this season and last, previously only 42. 1973/74 October Wednesday night, 12,501 present for 0-0 with Gasheads, they had 3 goals disallowed second half but a proper game. Think Kenny Stephen’s played for them and then us a few seasons later.

My first EVER football league match was at Eastville too. Bristol Rovers 0 Watford 3. 10th December 1966. A family Christmas shopping trip to Bristol. My Dad soon got bored with that (bless him) so said "C'mon son let's see who's playing at home today and we'll go to the match"

I remember Mick Harris. Didn't he get a move to Berwick Rangers? Must have been the Jock Wallace connection.

Peter Brough 0 - 1 Hereford (Archie Andrews og) Goalless after 90 minutes; Peter Brough then thows his voice and Archie throws the game.
Fans vent their anger.

PS - love your Dad's attitude that day! He played for Berwick 69-70. I think this may be him seated, second left. Jock Wallace behind his left shoulder. Usually wore number 11 for Hereford United. He cost Berwick £1,000, scored 6 goals in 21 appearances and returned south to Gloucester City via Merthyr in the early 1970s.
