Phillips and Kearns were underrated, Ollie was often berated, especially his overhead volley attempts, often missed! Without looking at Ron's book, their returns, if memory serves me correct, were pretty decent as a partnership of a lower 4th Division side. They were lucky to be served by the likes of Jimmy, Winnie and Maddy though.

Nothing to do with HUFC (although feel free to share your HUFC Subbuteo memories), but I reckon this will appeal to MT. How brilliant is the fact there was a programme based on subbuteo?

Hereford United v Sheffield Wednesday, 4th January, 1958. 66 years ago. Who is the only United player still alive, do we think?

Very good. I will give you a slightly harder one: Which 3 forwards scored 33 goals each for Hereford United? All in the 1960s...might have been a couple of goals by one in the late 50s....

No, not in one season - total for the club. Sorry. Not easy, probably!

Players who scored 33 goals for HUFC were:
The aforementioned Ronnie Clayton, Ron Fogg and Hawkeye's favourite centre forward Tony Biggs.
