Mendes missing next 4 games, Tex the next 2. Not good.

Mendes missing next 4 games, Tex the next 2. Not good. I probably could guess, as in number of red cards and yellow cards respectively. Would I be correct?

Utter dross from Hereford this evening. Incomprehensible management of the team. 3 centre backs again. It's a pity there aren't a few more berating Mr Caddis for this continuing misjudgement. Pond (under no pressure for his place) 4; Howkins 5, Downing 6, Cameron 5; Skinner 6, Texeira 4, Mendes 7, Hudson (not as good as Livingstone) 4; Babos 6; Williams 6, Cowley 5. After much promise the season has fizzled out. Left at half time to see if it would be any better on television. What match was that particular commentary team witnessing? Spot on re Pond and Hudson. Thought Caddis mantra was only bring in if an improvement. Cant have much faith in bench if persisting with 3 centre backs in must win games.

Unfortunately, Pond is about 35% of the player from Aug/Sep/Oct when he was proving he was good enough for this level.

Far from perfect, but “utter dross”? Some folk seem to like embarrassing themselves. Repeatedly. Swap ‘keepers (sorry Pondy, you’ll be back) and that’s a comfy home win.
Willo off it, but he’ll also be back, and plenty of spirit out there. Also, how has the season “fizzled out” when we’re three points off the play-offs with 12 matches to go?
Mendes easily MoM for me. Will be missed.

Skinner was excellent, best player on the pitch.

To be fair the last two games we have been without both wingers and have played a more rear guard 5-3-2. To gain both draws against the top teams in three days is a sign we can still reach the playoffs. We really missed Ceesay in particular. Downing was MOM for me.His vision and calm possession is head above the other central defenders. Cameron has good attitude but is ponderous and liable to make mistakes. Howkins and Downing make a good centre back partnership when we can move on from the makeshift back five. Babos and Tex were ineffectual in midfield,it took Lyden to come on and work well with Mendez to make us more combative. We did look jaded in the first half. Willo is at last playing 90 minutes, and can only improve fitness wise and with his understanding with Cowley. Sorry for Pond just dropping the ball when he was not seriously challenged in his six yard box. Just a bad clanger. That seemed to make the players nervous until half time. With the Meadow End in full voice ,the second half was a different story. Strange penalty decision. The player seemed to be wrestling with Downing on the line, which usually goes unnoticed. Willo and Cowley both seemed to want to take the penalty, and only the force of the Willo's shot ,hit down the middle , just got through the keeper. Glad I'm not a witness to the skull duggery and horrible football at Southport at the weekend however. How does Kouhyar fit into this? We haven't seen much of him since he returned.

Not hugely surprised the keeper got to the penalty, Chester's goalkeeping coach told Stanway exactly where it was going during the holdup before it was taken. Given fof holding on Downing apparently?
3 at the back much better in the second half when Skinner & Hudson played further up the pitch. If we're going to persist with this then they need to learn not to get sucked back all the time because then we just play deep and the bypassed midfield just means we're under pressure all the time.
I'll defend Pond a bit, but he really needs to go out to goalie school in the summer. To many basic mistakes, nearly another back pass howler tonight.
Williams worse tonight than Saturday. Saying no more about that.

Didn’t go last night but once again we drop points and remain within touching distance of the play offs.
All anyone needs is to put together 2 or 3 wins. Can we do that is the question? Without wingers I’m not as negative as some over these upcoming away fixtures. 5 at the back, Maz and Lyden back starting in the midfield, why can’t we pick up 3 points?

I fail to see what Williams experiance brings to the team. Only showing Caddis how to put both arms in the air to make the letter X. Should be on numberblocks.

Will be missed. Yes, utter dross. We know Chester are a passing team, so we surrender midfield before the kick-off. Given that the Bala Two now start 4 match and 2 match suspensions that tells you pretty much what Caddis thinks of Kouhyar, not starting with him last night. Probably never seen him play. You know full well the season has fizzled out. As for the local "media" the public would have a bit more time for them if they occasionally tell it as it is. We're always the aggrieved party, aren't we? Texeira has been booked ten times this season for gobbing off and Mendes has been sent off 5 minutes before the end of a game we were winning and 5 minutes after a game finished. I am a big fan of Andy Williams, always have been and I hope things get better for him. Unfortunately, the blueprint remains the 5-2 from 17 days ago when Cowley played centrally up front on his own to start. There is no sign whatsoever that that was ever going to be a "comfy" home win. The team was organised extremely badly.

Unfortunately, Pond is about 35% of the player from Aug/Sep/Oct when he was proving he was good enough for this level. I said after the Scarborough game that Pond's been great for most of the season but it looks like his standards have started to slip of late and maybe he needs a bit of a break. If I were Caddis I'd consider bringing in a young keeper from a championship side on loan for a month and take Pond out of the firing line. I think it's definitely time for Caddis to bring in a loan keeper now. Also it looks a bit of a mistake in hindsight to have released Tolley now we desperately need a winger.

Two reasonable results it seems to me. Next few games will give a clearer indication of our playoff chances, we probably want 6 points out of the next 9 available.

Second bout of serious bad luck. Losing both wingers in a oner matches the misfortune of losing both strikers at the start of the season. As laboured as we have been compared to the pouring forward with gas abandon football of a few weeks ago, we did well against the two teams of the division at the moment.

Not as well as Chorley? 12 points at home rather than 5 would have given a clearer indication of our playoff chances.

Law of averages when you pass back to your keeper he will mess one up sometime. The amount of times we have passed back to him in the last two games that average must be one error per game.
Cameron several times last night found himself in the position that the strikers should have been in. He is not the type of player to jink around the defenders and slot the ball passed the keeper.
Willo was very very lucky with the penalty.
In the first half we seemed to be playing a game of pass the ball backwards three times before it can be played forward. Also we seemed to never get beyond three passes before we gave the ball away
Too many times the ball was passed out quickly to Skinner for him to stop turn and pass the ball back losing the momentum of the quick ball. Many times he was the only player in the half of the pitch from the centre spot to the touch line but instead we went down the congested side of the pitch.
