I very much doubt that any of this would be better than watching Beta Band and then walking straight into a wood to find an enormous sphere of light spinning above your head and Squarepusher playing some nonsense or other. What difference does it make?

Watching Hot Chip. A technically (or technologically) gifted snoozefest at the moment.
I reckon it'll all come together sooner or later.

Well I’ve just watched the foo fighters and was bored witless …. I’m not sure what all the fuss was about ! Gimme the likes of Springsteen anytime ! Hadn't realised they were playing. Would have called in, to add them to list of bands seen. Having ww on this topic is like Ian Hislop talking football.

I was there 30yrs ago today, only really went to see Morrissey but he didn't bother to turn up. Carter USM were the main act that night, one of the best live performancet I've seen. The rest of that weekend is a blur. I was there 20 years ago today (and about this time of the evening) having an unexpected euphoric moment to David Gray whilst on my way to the front for REM. Managed to see the last songs of Steve Harley, Waterboys and someone else I can't remember that day, if I remember correctly. UFOs in the sky as well, apparently. No idea. Was Michael Schenker with UFO then?

A rather abrupt end to proceedings.
Not happy.

A rather abrupt end to proceedings. Not happy. Those toys do come with a guarantee so worth a try to get a refund. Obviously abnormal use would be excluded.

Yeah, cheers I'm aware of that.
Nigel told me that the warranty doesn't cover loss or damage which has occurred sub-surface.
Thanks for trying though.

The rest of that weekend is a blur. Johnny Morrisey made a lot of goals for Alex Young (AKA the Golden Vision) and Joe Royle. Good left foot. Played, therefore, on the left. Morrissey Although not a big bloke, he was a hard man and, in a game just after Jack Charlton revealed that he kept a little black book that had names of players he wished to hurt or exact revenge upon, he clattered Charlton and then went over to pick him up. As he bent over he muttered into his ear ‘you can put that in your ****ing book now!'

Apocryphal.
Legend also has it he was the only player of whom Tommy Smith was wary. All very much at odds with his genial image portrayed in Animal Magic.

The line ups tonight seem completely and utterly shit. Seen better at Trowbridge Village Pump.
Any suggestions?

Well, Avalon or not, Biriani Ferret notwithstanding, it will be jolly nice to get back on Tor with our fellow bards, ovates and druids.

Whats on at Trowbridge village pump? I don't know but I don't think they've had to resort to Guns N Roses. Glastonbury seems to largely consist of band from 20+ years ago. What are they going to do in 20 years from now? A Guns N Roses tribute band headlining, I suppose.

Axl Rose reminds me of Freddie Starr.
