Anyone up for watching a load of it or is it better off ignored?
For the last decade or so I've usually preferred to ignore it but for some reason this year I feel the urge to blast out loads of crap music.
I did this earlier and absolutely everything available on the four stages on iPlayerwas diabolically shit. Apart from some band playing under the name Louis Cole or something. I think maybe they were good because everything else was so unacceptable. Who knows.
Any recommended bands to look out for? I realise that most of the people who the good folk on this enjoy listening to are long dead, so this might be a tricky question (unless one of those surprise guests is Rolf Harris, I suppose). BUT I SHALL ASK THE QUESTION NEVERTHELESS.

If I'm pissed enough later I might watch the Artic Monkeys.

I think I'm already on my half cut way to the Arctic Monkies.
I liked Daydream Believer but I think it would be an insensitive time to play Davey Jones's Locker.

Having had a quick gander at the line up, I think I might go for Hot Chip over The Arctic Monkeys.
If I were there I'd undoubtedly go for Nevilles Staples.

If I'm pissed enough later I might watch the Artic Monkeys. Careful. Get that wasted and someone could easily get you to be the next Hereford chairman

I was there 30yrs ago today, only really went to see Morrissey but he didn't bother to turn up. Carter USM were the main act that night, one of the best live performancet I've seen.
The rest of that weekend is a blur.

Royal Blood? Dull, dull, dull.
Music for people who don’t like music

Are they a Coldplay tribute act?

I can see Coldplay. I don’t want to see them, but I can see the attraction. Not for me, but still…
Royal Blood? Nope.
As an aside, a week ago I was at Villa Park breaking my Springsteen duck. Flipping heck. He is something else. Even in his 70s. Trying to adopt an element of “post punk” cool by wearing an A Certain Ratio t shirt, and then bellowing along to Because the Night. Great times

The rest of that weekend is a blur. I was there 20 years ago today (and about this time of the evening) having an unexpected euphoric moment to David Gray whilst on my way to the front for REM. Managed to see the last songs of Steve Harley, Waterboys and someone else I can't remember that day, if I remember correctly. UFOs in the sky as well, apparently. No idea.

You and me and the guy from Sparks hanging out with Howard Marks.
Is this song based on a real event? Who knows.

I was well into Sparks then. Sparks!
I'm buying a litre of vodka and some red Bull for tomorrow night. I'll be waving my hands and singing along to anyone.

I very much doubt that any of this would be better than watching Beta Band and then walking straight into a wood to find an enormous sphere of light spinning above your head and Squarepusher playing some nonsense or other.
