Can you specify if your post is about British Films, or is it in reference to sisyphus's question above?

Us Presteigne boys once found a VW Beatle bonnet dumped in a hedge. We would drag it to the top of The Warden (ancient hill fort) all climb aboard and ride it down the hill, jumping off before it crashed at the bottom. On our final run two lads failed to eject and crashed into a wasps nest - they ended up in hospital with multiple stings. Happy days. Up in the Hills of Clee, we would make a sledge run that ran through a couple of fields, going through gap in the hedge next to the gate post. A slight problem was the barbed wire that ran around the hedges to prevent livestock going through the gaps. To prevent decapitation you had to lower your upper body as you went through the gap*: St Moritz had the Cresta Run, we had the Limbo Run. * - It could be messy if you forgot about the wire the other side of the hedge.

Especially when you consider the rugby factor meaning you were all naked.

Empty blue Nitram bags made the best snow-mobiles. Shite off a shovel fast and horizontal body position would have made limbo manoeuvres a doddle.

If you heated the bags up it would provide an explosive boost. Allegedly.

The Guardian’s recent ranking of the top 25 Christmas films doesn’t exactly buck the paper’s snooty reputation, says Michael Deacon in The Daily Telegraph. Naturally, it had no place for “vulgarly commercial tat” like Home Alone or, “perish the thought”, Love Actually. It did, however, include Tangerine, “an obscure, low-budget film about a meth-smoking transgender prostitute” shot on three iPhones. If that’s not quite festive enough, then you could try Carol, ranked at number five – “a critically acclaimed drama about divorce, intolerance and how hard it was to be a lesbian in the 1950s”.

Nice one. Cheers for them. We knew if we stuck with you for long enough you would eventually pay out.

If anyone has a problem with Home Alone then they need to take a long hard look in the mirror and work out which species they are, let alone gender.
A tour de force *****

Ive never seen Vulgarly Commercial Tat or Perish the Thought, but if they are anything like Home Alone I'll put them on my list.

Gregory's Girl would be my choice but, sadly, over 30 years old.

Not sure when Brassed Off was made but that would have my vote. That said, I'm presently partial to a bit of Chicken Run and its brilliant sequel. Must be the time of year and the joy in my kid's eyes!

The quartet, followed by best exotic marigold hotel. Sorry if I’m raising the level here

Agree with you on ‘Carol’. Wonderful film. The restaurant scene at the end, and Cate Blanchett’s expression would have saved it even if the rest of the film had been dire. Which it hadn’t been.

Love Actually is shockingly bad. Just a horribly cliched drudgefest

Ha, read that as drugfest. Thought, what did I miss?

Bad Santa was filmed in Ross, I don't know if that counts?
