Actually, watching the line painters knocking up the cycle logos on the road is more satisfying than it should be.

Your last suggestion. Good shout. Released 63 years ago, with a brilliant British cast. Albert Finney in the lead role, one of the greats. And they made Raleigh cycles in the UK back then, alongside Sturmey Archer gear sets. 🚲 Great artwork for those amongst the congregation who don't know what bikes are. 😂 Bugger off! It took me ages to draw that.

I think they are filming a gangster movie in town. Armed police surrounding the old Ann Summers shop apparently.

The negotiator was heard bellowing into the microphone "Monkey Tennis come out (preferably dressed), you are completely surrounded".

The warning signs were there. He means no harm, it didn't have to end up with machine guns.

Actually it sounds quite serious. Paramedics not a good sign obviously.

Land and Freedom by Ken Loach based on Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell. Wonderful.

Thinking about it, the best British film ever made, ever is Quadrophenia.
And that's an undeniable fact.

Escape to Victory (probably not British without checking), whilst not a classic has to have a place in everyone's hearts?

It is definitely one of the best American-British-Italian films we have been treated to.

If we’re going beyond 30 years, I’m having the classic of its generation, and many others, The Commitments. Screenwriting genius, a laugh on every page.

Kids today should try throwing themselves out of oak trees, or riding home made trolleys* down Home Lane and into Belmont Road. * What is nowadays called carting, made from an old pram frame. Brakes had to be securely attached to your feet by their shoelaces.

I don't know what the actual area is called, but there is that big bit of flood plain in-between most of the north west of Hereford. The bit that goes from the Range to Yazor Rd next to the brook. The other side of Hurdman Walk. Anyway when I was a kid there was a big tree and someone had rigged up a swing. This one lad who was quite a tough bugger fell out of said tree on to the area where we had all left our bikes. He was proper in agony. There was another lad who was a few years older who was a wannabe stuntman. A few years before that he did some evil knieval style jumping of the brook on his bike. Big crowd by all accounts. He bust a few things from what I gather. They both went onto get heavily into drugs. God knows how they are doing now?

Us Presteigne boys once found a VW Beatle bonnet dumped in a hedge. We would drag it to the top of The Warden (ancient hill fort) all climb aboard and ride it down the hill, jumping off before it crashed at the bottom. On our final run two lads failed to eject and crashed into a wasps nest - they ended up in hospital with multiple stings.
Happy days.

Just rewatched that for the first time in some 30 years thanks to your nudge. Nostalgia and happy memories of being young though made me a bit depressed as to lost youth but overall positive. Not sure it qualifies as British?

'They both went on to get heavily into drugs' Are you implying that the above incidents occurred whilst they weren't actually stoned and that proper drug misuse came later? 😃

Another Year Submarine Sightseers Undertaking Betty
All good films (Sightseers is a bit different…favourite quote from film is ‘Chris! That is NOT my vagina!) Are anatomical terms allowed on here?
