The situation with dentistry in this country is genuinely unacceptable.
There are people out there ripping their own teeth out with pliers! We'd be better off in Greece... 2,500 years ago!
FFS!

Fear nor for Bridget Phillipson is on the case for Labour. We're gonna have breakfast clubs to lure the primary schoolchildren to, er, school. And one mental health adviser per secondary school to rectify our lack of productivity.
God knows what we'll do if there's a war on.

I think most normal parents would think that would be very helpful. In the real world. Of course, most people think "if you can't afford them then don't have kids". Not particularly comforting when things have completely spiraled out of control in recent years.

Why didn't you just say "I remember this once going out on the piss with MT"? Because I distinctly remember them being dessert forks in Wetherspoons. And it wasn't his teeth. But a noble effort nonetheless!

Since the Tories took over in 2010, I've worked in no less than three government-owned buildings which have then been sold to private owners, each time we have been moved into buildings which are rented by the government (at an EXTORTIONATE rate).
My partner is going to pay at least £300 for a basic dental procedure tomorrow.
Where does the money go? Not to the good people of this country, that's for sure. The Tories have sold this country forever and should never be forgiven for it. It's now impossible to buy back. It's not ours any more.
Railways - sold Energy facilities - sold Health - trying to normalise private care Land - sold Leases - sold Even our heritage assets are not beyond financial gain to them. Unique World Heritage Landscape - yeah stick a tunnel through it and show me the money.
When are we ever going to reap the benefits of these sales? I'll tell you when; never. It has already been spent on champagne and cü!NTS.
They should never be forgiven. Never. Anyone defending them for even a moment either doesn't understand what they're on about or is a selfish Hancock. Fecking unacceptable. Despicable. Self-serving. Gleeful destructionalist çüñts.
It's about time we took this country back. Personally I think an outright war on selfish nobodies would the best way forward but voting Labour is undoubtedly the most sensible way of doing it for most people.
Never let this parasitic scum back in again.

The above is almost worth a 'like'.
However, ask yourself why the non-clinical infrastructure at Hereford Hospital is operated exclusively by a French company. And which government facilitated that ridiculous state of affairs.
The present rabble in power have so much to answer for, not least the fact that ABDeP Johnson was hoisted upon us.
But the other 'main' parties have to share some of the blame too.
Blair. Brown. Davey. Clegg.

Just heard a woman on Thought for the Day say "humankind." When are our primary schoolchildren going to get some male teachers? (The last two comments are slightly tangential.)

Can I add the loss of nhs dentistry to the current fkin shambles ! We had two start up locally in recent years .. to serve nhs customers. Now both private and there is nowhere in the county at all … This thread is depressing .. sorry to add to it but if labour do get elected this year I can see them up against a Johnson or farage led Tory party next time .. what a thoroughly shite thought ! Probably; after all, this is the party whose local association in Wellingborough selected the partner of their disgraced MP, Peter Bone, to represent them in the byelection caused by his recall by local voters. She still supports him, so she's probably just the sort of person that a Tory voter would want representing them. Bone is reported by the Sunday Times to have threatened Sunak that if he didn't support his partner's selection, he, Bone, would run as an Independent. About as much backbone as a Skate, our PM. Somebody asked in this thread what we'll do if there's a war on; surrender if this PM is in charge.

Quite so … Johnson, Truss, Sunak .. it’s like a bad dream ! The bar has dropped so low that Sunak seemed like an improvement .. sadly not the case !

And let's not forgot it took an ITV drama for Sunak to even begin to fathom the appalling behaviour of the Post Office towards its office managers. Perhaps we could have a moving TV drama about Biddy Stockholm now? Come to think of it, maybe a timely re-run of Hotel Rwanda would persuade the government that Rwanda isn't a particularly safe place to send migrants.

It's probably safer than here, then. This place is as safe as houses. There were a couple of bomb threats over Christmas admittedly but considering the associated problem drinking admin were relieved that they got off so lightly.

I assumed that the Tories may have a bit of explaining to do about the post office scandal. I think they all do going on what's been kicking around over the last 48 hours.
That scouser that was cross examined today seemed a decent sort though.
The chap who cross examined him was very impressive.

So the Indian company that own Port Talbot Steelworks have been given £0.5 billion by this government to help them reduce the carbon footprint of the steel they make. In the process the Tories are happy to put 3,000 people out of work, plus the local businesses that supply Port Talbot and the people who work there.
This funding will probably help them move more steel production to India, which we will then buy from them.
Tories, your starter for 10. Which has the smaller carbon footprint, steel made in the UK to use in UK manufacture, or steel made in India and then transported to the UK for use in UK manufacture? I know, tough one for you lot, isn't it?
I wonder if any of our government have business interests in India.
So £1/2 a billion already, plus whatever the taxpayer will have to pick up in unemployment benefits. That's a lot of dosh for us to say tata to, and a lot of dosh for TATA to say hello to.
Thatcher's privatisations are reaping dividends for many countries, but not ours.
Brexit was going to give us back our sovereignty. After this, we won't make our own steel, so will be reliant on the good will of the rest of the world, especially the EU. Some feckin sovereignty.

FFS! 🙄 PS. I wonder what plan HM Government's Opposition has, or will have, to address this state of affairs. 🤔 PPS. Are we still sending 'overseas aid' to India?

I wonder what plan HM Government's Opposition has, or will have, to address this state of affairs. 🤔 PPS. Are we still sending 'overseas aid' to India? Difficult for the opposition. They have a plan to spend £3 billion to fund arc furances, and at the same time keeping at least one of the blast furnaces for about 10 years, which would drastically reduce the unemployment scale down to what could be achieved by voluntary redundancies. However, if the government pushes this through, and then drags its heels on an election, that opportunity will be lost. Which do you reckon this government favours? Aid to India? It's difficult to say as the official line on it is that it is invested in businesses and other projects of benefit to both countries. UK government has not got a good track record on benefiting its own country, so you have to decide yourself. £2.3 billion between 20126 and 2021, and now to increase by 70%. I anybody in the Shire is thinking of voting Lib Dem to get the 2 Tories out, think again. Latest YouGov poll here has Tories on about 35%, Labour on 26% and Lib Dems on about 19%. If I recall, Reform* are on about 10%. Vote Labour in the Shire to get rid of the Tories. * - I may just have given the Tories a boost by letting any Tories planning to vote Reform as a protest, thinking Tories will still win, some info that they could not find.
