What does this mean? A few old hunt members come in for a drink occasionally, or that you host the hunt but there are fewer participants now? Thanks. The former Thank you. I, like Mike, am vehemently anti-blood sports and would not drink in any establishment that hosted the hunt. Of course, who drinks privately in your establishment is a different matter and is not my concern.

Has anyone seen Mike hunt?

The Black Swan at Much Dewchurch is open every lunch time and every evening. That in itself is quite an achievement. The beer, home-made food and welcome are first class. The pub is both full of character and characters. The landlady is a delightful host.
The pub is a vital part of the community; it also attracts travellers. If it was good enough for the Lord Protector of England it is plenty good enough for latter day Puritans.

Possibly best to leave the Wild Justice t-shirt at home?

I was once told, by a Bromyard resident, that the Queens Arms opened at 6.00 pm. Apparently the same couldn't be said for her legs.

I'm confused.
Is it ok to go to this pub or not?
Should I ever venture to this establishment, will I run the risk of standing at the bar alongside people who think it's ok to kill animals for "sport"? (I accept that this could happen anywhere, but you see with regard to this thread and this boozer, the seed has now been sown).
And what are latter day Puritans, in this context?

Just had another couple of hours in (probably) the best pub in the county. The locals have an abhorrence of foxhunting. The poster who cast aspersions doesn't go there. Puritans are people who profess to be persons of an extremely high moral standard.

Could I just add to that, you are far more likely to have a regular gathering of a pro-hunt clientele in (of all places) The Barrels these days.

Well no, it was in the context that Oliver Cromwell spent time in this olde worlde 14th century Inn. Very good point above, by the way, by the person calling himself swanbull in respect of the Barrels in Hereford. To which I would add the further context that it will generally be peopled by about 3% criminals at any given time?

Hmmm.
Cross Keys invariably has several/copious numbers of braces hanging in the porch during the season.
Whenever that is.
