Ive just had a an hour to kill so was having a bit of a read up.
I remember him as a pup playing at edgar street, looking at pictures of him now hes bloody muscled up, looks a bit of a hard ass.
Could never understand why Swindon didn't renew his contract last season scored 22 goals, scored 8 so far for Doncaster this season.
I know that Nigel Clough was going to sign him for Sheffield United on a freeby, but he got sacked before he had chance to get him

Remembering his goals, well a couple anyway, the winner away at Swindon, and the equaliser at the playoff final, good lad was AW but not treated to well by Mr Turner I've been told in the past.

The best Herefordshire-born forward in the history of the old club. Comfortably.

The best Herefordshire-born forward in the history of the old club. Comfortably. Absolute bollox. Although I suppose you were too young to remember Charlie Thompson, John Charles or Tommy Best?

The best Herefordshire-born forward in the history of the old club. Comfortably. But he had to leave both the club and the shire to illustrate it. Windmilling/arm waving petulant attitude and all. He really was developing into a legend in his own lunchtime towards the end of his tenure at Edgar Street. He had to go. And he did. Relief all round. (All in my humble opinion, of course!).

No apology? And before you start, Phillips was born in Halifax. I saw all of them play. More times than you.

(All in my humble opinion, of course!). Well, yes. Because he was too good for us. Turner who gave him his first chance later deployed him on the wing during his loan spells. The "arm waving and petulance" resulted in no suspensions. So quite irrelevant.
He was certainly on £5k a week last season.
PS Not surprised you've had relief.
