Not going to start a poll as there has already been one. I am really struggling to see the point in rebranding the club at this time. Even if the club’s figures are incorrect (£30k) and the Bring Back United figure of £10k is more accurate, what is the value for money here? It’s an awful lot of work for the club office, isn’t going to put a single extra bum on a seat and strikes me as a fairly meaningless nod to the past. can anyone give me a single good reason to restore United. I think we can probably all accept that it’s to all intents and purposes the same club. Without the debts… I think, for the quite simple reason, that no club that's been called the same name for 90 years ever tries to change it. Clubs change managers, they change players, sometimes they change grounds, the kit even. But clubs with a storied history with a name, never seek to change it. Had the club not gone to the wall in 14, no one would have wanted to change the name. I can't accept that we as supporters can try and claim the history of HUFC if we're no longer called HUFC. We must change it back. Then, finally, we have our club back. Your club is dead. Just concentrate on getting your new one to a respectable league.

Obviously there were some horrific acts of terrorism back in one of the darkest periods of our lifetime, but does anyone else remember being in boozers/clubs in Hereford in the 80s/90s and everyone would have to go outside because of a bomb scare. I seem to remember that happening a few times. A night in the Entertainer springs to mind.
Always someone pissed up/off dicking around. They would have got well done if caught surely?
I am guessing the MK Don lived in the shire at some point so maybe he is just playing the long game.

Sometime in the late '80s, a mate of mine went to The Plough after school and bunged his bag into a corner as it marked him as underage.
A while later, the police turned up and evacuated the pub due to a bomb scare. My mate complied but asked if he could just retrieve his bag first?
Copper asked him, "Black canvas bag, is it?" My mate replied in the affirmative.
"It's alright, Sarge," announced the copper. "This prat owns it."
Still barred, as far as I know.

It sounds like both colebridge and I are going on gut feel here, but I reckon the name correction _will_ put bums on seats (mine for one), and will definitely increase merch sales. I've never bought a Hereford FC shirt but you can bet I and many others will want to buy the first one that says Hereford United on it.

Not, and won’t ever be losing sleep over this, but would vote for a return to United, if given the opportunity. £20k - splitting the difference - would, I believe be more than covered by merch sales. And Danny Lee’s dulcet tones have been silent for too long.

I have no idea which I want?
I look back on the old HUFC era, and even the players that helped us deal with our addiction to finishing 17th when you watch Matt Healeys videos on Bulls News make you realise how wonderful HUFC was. Almost feels blasphemous.
But I also quite like the idea of getting rid of the Hereford FC tag.
Like a few have said I am not going to get too uptight either way. I am a member of HUST though and have had some info through which I need to read.
What I will say is, if we do go onto to be HUFC we have to go on and earn it. Do it justice. Get some renewed energy going. There is a positive vibe at the moment anyway, but use this to take it up to the next level. My mate mentioned renewed shares. I would like to see a stadium development fund started. They did that in the 70s.
EDIT: I know it matters to lads I like in the pro HUFC way, so I will probably vote for it for them.

Good man, but would finishing 17 th every season really do it justice? 🫤

"Vocal supporters" stumping up £9,570 for a name change. Christ, we are blessed. They didn't need much more to keep United going in the first place.

Let's be honest, even if the vote is against changing back to HUFC the issue isn't going to go away and we'll probably have a vote every year until we get a "yes". So let's save ourselves the effort and vote "yes" this time. Bring back Untied!

For me, it is important to get United back. I'm talking to mates about United this and that and never FC. If the Club don't want to revert back, then why bring up all the history of Ronnie, Addo etc, you can't have it both ways. Even if the HUST vote goes through, they will still need at least two of the bennyvestors to vote for it, which I very much doubt they will get.

How much money did HUST have in 2014? They had every single penny which fans had raised to save Hereford United. None of that money went to Hereford United.

Yeah I know what happened, but how much money did HUST have at the end/start (the murky bit)? I think a lot of money was being raised to try and save the club right up until the end of the last full season (the Aldershot one), the wonderful Omid etc.
