They’ll make their own minds up no doubt.
A no vote would be very unpopular with a large proportion of the fans though.

Now the remaining shareholders will have to make a decision. Will they consult with the Board on what is best for the club or listen to the loudest voices? It's not an either/or argument. In this case the ones with the loudest voices are also the ones who want what's best for the club, ie for it to be called Hereford United once again.

The vote in favour of returning to United is 74.35%. More lies.

The vote was 80% to bring back the United name which if implemented will give back to the club access to it's rich history.Sorry FC just doesn't cut it so the sooner it's laid to rest the better.

I must apologise in advance for my ignorance but where in fact did HUST make it possible to vote? Apart from actual attendance at the meeting, where on line was the ability to cast a vote. Where did I miss it? Surprisingly there's no reference to this issue on their website and whilst I've read the BN notices regarding this matter I'm at a loss to know how I was intended to vote! Now in my eighties I fear I may be more senile than I thought. (Please don't answer that).

See what I mean ? can't even remember that! Seriously, I do not recall receiving any email about voting for the change, the last HUST email in April advising of lease extension. I wonder how many more failed to vote for the same reason?

Bottom line is, unless I’ve misunderstood the A of A’s, is that a small number of wealthy people will decide if the club is return to United.
While obviously not exclusively the case, wealthy people will generally make decisions to best suit themselves personally, or best suit their business interests. Five men bought a train set, it remains their train set, they can call it what they want. No matter how excited the talking shop around said train set might get.
I’d prefer, while absolutely understanding the nays, a return to United. I suspect I’ll be disappointed.

Fwiw I’ve spoken to many fans around the bars and on the terraces and it’s rare that someone doesn’t want to return to the name Hereford United. The number of fans who have joined Hust is small in comparison to the size of our fan base but the result of the vote should not be taken lightly as it probably does reflect the feelings of the wider fanbase….like an exit poll at a general election. It’s a landslide Stig.

It’s a landslide Stig. Exactly. Too many posters are complicating a very simple issue. The vast majority of our fans think of our club as Hereford United. Fans of other clubs still call us Hereford United. If we don't revert to our former name now we'll be having exactly the same conversation in a year's time (and the year after that, etc). Some may query the cost but the figure is relatively small and anyway Keith Hall has very decently offered to pay half the cost and also it's a one off payment. I see no good reason why we shouldn't revert back to Hereford United now.
