With both teams having "play off" aspirations in their respective leagues, which manager is taking the game most seriously will be evident by team selections. Waugh tever, it's no easy Ryder into the next round.

I understand the extra cost involved in reserving seats for Trophy Cup games and support the decision not to give season tickets priority. I do think however that it would have been polite to inform season ticket holders before the tickets were being sold on line.

Get the Reserves out for this nonsense.

Phew. With all this name change talk I thought ours had been changed to Gillingham.

Just walked to the club shop to purchase a ticket for Saturdays game and the whole town seems gripped by FA Trophy fever.

I will be there in spirit today, though I'm not too far away to hear the cheers.
I shall be giving my daughter away to another man. Ceromony at Lyde Court, I've been practicing my crying all week!

Cowley doesn't need to try and make a mark on the defender every time after the ball has gone.

I don't want to alarm you, but no sign of MT at ES. If however the bridesmaids are in sky blue (or brown) I would definitely begin to panic.

Decent ref. We might just end up missing 1 of our better players today from having an easy win

A bonkers last 10 minutes. We gave it a good go. Good to see Lyden back on the pitch.

We played on the back foot with three centre halves and surrendered midfield especially in the first half. Gateshead are a good footballing side and deserved to win to be fair. Downing was MOM for me. Great to see Lyden playing the last twenty minutes. We went for itat the end with Cowley hitting the crossbar with a header, and Pond coming up for the last corner headed just wide when it would have been easier to score. We missed Ceesay taking on defenders. Crowd sang all round the ground. Came away with heads held high . Looking forward to Tamworth next Saturday.

Thinking about it. If he had scored, he would have been that pumped for the penalties he would have probably done the biz.

Gateshead were streets ahead in most areas and thoroughly deserved the win. We were depressingly unambitious for all but the last 15 minutes. A late goal to us would have condemned us to an expensive trip up north for another lesson in how to pass the ball and indulge in inevitable defeat.
On the upside the back four played well, especially the full backs. The pitch was a credit to the groundsman after the puddles of Friday. The ref was excellent and the game remarkably free of fouls. The support was unstinting despite the one-way traffic and the volume was 11/10 for a relatively limited attendance.
This team might just make the play-offs but will need some luck and an entirely different game plan for home matches.

I was surprised by the attendance. Looked more than the last home match.

I thought with the players available it was almost the perfect game plan. We missed Ceesay a lot as an outlet today.
