Ive got an idea for the squad builder. Its called Beat A Benny. Whereby each individual pays £5 to take a penalty kick against one of the original Benefactors. Any goals scored the Benny pays in double. Perfect. Even Mr Kilpeck will be down at that one. Bullet toe punts aiming straight for the face, maybe. But its a winning idea "Beat A Benny" Yes, my approach would be to punt it at their nose and then throw a tenner at them and say "that's to mop up the blood, SWEET CHEEKS". Good idea though!

I am trying to understand why they would be sat 20m up in the air in the floodlight tower in the first place.

Anyone remember the penalty competition at the end of 2001/2 season? You had to get £75 of sponsorship in order to take penalties in front of the ME at half time in the final home game (forgotten who) I not only raised the requisite £75, but exceeded it by almost a fiver. Including £10 from a Mr Blandford in the Kinnersley… They look easy, don’t they, penalties? How could I fail against United’s second string goalie. But I did. I shaped like a wuss, and gently toe punted 3 pathetic daisy cutters in front of guffawing meadowenders. ‘Pathetic’ doesn’t even come close. I slunk back to my comfort zone in the ME, and retrieved my camera from my personal biographer, Mr Tompkins. Who shook his head sadly at me.

You may have seen these, can do it for any game. Mugs etc. (not sure about mouse mats). This came up as their example on one of them ads you get cropping up on your phone...

That's pretty cool actually - but is Ceefax still a thing? I mean, surely that ended in the 1990s.

Ceefax was the original Jeff Stelling. Them proper old betting slips with sections lists etc. then at about 9:20 on a Tuesday you would be sat staring at your telly praying Huddersfield would get an equaliser away to Plymouth.
Teletext holidays also.
I also remember they would have the odd brave stab at graphics. People's faces even.

First goal of the season for Jim Bowen.
Now that everyone has dropped him from their Dream Team I'm going for 20 league goals this season for the young Lemnerite.

Another goal for the legend.
He'll surely be off somewhere in January?
Hopefully not, but I must admit that I'm looking forward to that sell on fee. I might buy a new sofa!

"Bowen has come a long way from playing non-league football with Hereford. And then becoming a local hero with Hull. I'm sure that's the first result he still looks up"
"Which one, Hereford or Hull?"
"Haha"
See, even these idiots know that it's not possible to look up a Hereford United result any more!
