Rory has the intellect. Maitlis was gunning for Johnson. Javid is a joke.

Johnson is a nasty piece of work. But gets a ridiculously easy ride from the right wing press, particularly his paymasters, the Barclay brothers.
Gove just resorts to whataboutery.
Stewart is in the wrong party. And is unacceptable to the demographic who make up most of the Tory electorate. Similarly the rather lightweight Javid.
I write this through gritted teeth, but Hunt may just about be the best of an appalling bunch.
Wow. This country is so screwed.

The end of James Naughtie's career. (Hunt.) He should be so lucky. That abominable woman Victoria Derbyshire claimed that only men used such language. Sexist nonentity that she is.

The glass half full part of me is still saying Rory Stewart could continue gaining momentum and sneak past the oxygen thief that is Johnson. And if Johnson does/is found out to have done something unforgivable even to the Telegrapherati.* *Although how low he'd need to stoop is the thing - what actually would be a step too far?

No matter how much the snowflakes hate the Tories, I think we're all agreed that any of the Tory candidates would make a better prime minister than Corbyn!

I find it particularly galling that Cameron received £800,000 from selling the publishing rights to his forthcoming autobiography due to be published in September. I guess he will also receive substantial royalties unless everyone BOYCOTTS it.

It is quite frankly laughable that people have come on here to make fun of the candidates when they actually support an extremist and absolute joke of a politician in Jeremy Corbyn. The overall format for the programme was pretty pathetic though really. I'm not sure what the point was in asking the questioners if they were satisfied with answers when it was blatantly obvious that some of them had taken time off from a local Momentum rally. As for Boris it did appear to be a bit of a hatchet job where he couldn't even get through one line of his answer without being interrupted by Emily. It was a wasted hour of television in all honesty and BBC should look very hard at themselves and wonder why we learnt almost nothing from it. No one stood out from the crowd but there were no big blunders either. Turns out as well that the 15 year old they had on there asking about climate change had her parents 4 feet away telling her what to say. I think that just about sums the whole evening up really.
Compare that with C4 that actually encourage debate between candidates, had sensible questioners and by god we actually managed to hear what people were saying without Emily interrupting every 10 seconds.
