As long as it's not over used and it generates a good atmosphere, personally I don't mind.

Meh, not bovvered.
As you say, if it helps actually generate a half decent atmosphere at a home game then I don't mind.

I remember when we had one a few years back. Thought it helped the atmosphere. And no more annoying than people banging the back of the stand.

Yes from me.And see if the young lad with the trumpet will play at a few games as well. Got the meadow end going when he stood on the wall and played the great escape.

Drumming was better pre 1980. Since then, there has been no good drumming.
FACT.

not in favour of drums at football usually, however this is possibly the biggest game so far and anything that can generate a better atmosphere than we have had so far has got to be worth a try.

If we need a drum to generate a good atmosphere, God help us.

Ok if its down Blackfriars end That may be a possible compromise although we don't have the lease for that so may not be an option. As OldME said, we shouldn't need a drum on the Meadow End for this match. We shouldn't need it for any match. The atmosphere hasn't been that bad and I know it will be loud and proud on Saturday without the need for a drum.

I think that we should instal a long haired drummer in a kilt on the top of Waitrose, with a wind machine blowing his flaxen locks back towards the Cathedral. We can start with a quick burst of Cozy Powell's Dance with the devil before progressing to the full Song Remains the Same version of Moby Dick.
As a finale the drummer could blow himself up in the style of Keith Moon.
If that's on the cards, I'll offer up a tentative "yes". Anything less is ultra tinpot. Like our friends from Whaddon.
Real football clubs don't have drummers.
