The whole sh1tshow has been about the tory party battling to keep their snouts in the trough, with no heed to the consequences.
Started with Cameron calling the referendum to marginalise Farage, convinced it would be a remain landslide - that went well.
May took up the baton, by drawing her ridiculous red lines to appease Rees-Mogg and his cohorts - that also went well.
She then called a general election, with the sound knowledge that a small parliamentary majority would be increased - that went really well.
Having bribed the DUP and painted herself into a corner, despised by almost everyone, she blubbed a bit and jumped ship.
The new boss, Captain AllMouthandTrousers, as decreed by Colonel and Mrs. Bufton-Tufton, is now attempting to shut the playground because he and the rest of the schoolyard bullies are being stood up to by people who actually do give a flying f*ck for people other than themselves. Fortunately, it will end in tears for him, and he'll go down in history as the shortest lived Prime Minister this country has ever seen. Although in that time, he'll have told more lies than most of the rest put together.

I'm thinking he might just get away with it. either he succeeds in shutting down debate until october meaning his no deal bargaining chip is still on the table at the European Council and increasing the chances of getting some kind of "deal". or the plan is scuppered by those pesky remainers allowing him to call his people vs the politicians election. at which he may well romp home?

One caveat though. cb has already cited the Bufton-Tuftons. You need to be more original.

Interesting to watch from outside the UK. Britains reputation is well and truly trashed. We see interviews with oldies in the shops who are demanding a no-deal Brexit and, honestly they come across as thick as pigsh!t. They aren't capable of talking about the issues. This obsession with upholding democracy even though had that vote taken place anywhere else in the world, Britain would have decried it as a banana republic. Universally, the actions of the ruling party in the UK are being condemned worldwide - I just don't think you are able to get the same coverage in the UK. Try signing trade deals with the reputation you have now. Some of my non-UK mates want a no-deal to see how much it will destroy the UK. I don't as I can see that the real sufferers are the working class and disenfranchised who will have their rights destroyed by a Tory party who are licking their lips as the prospect of being able to take away the rights that have been so well fought for over the last 30 years and enshrined into law. Also licking their lips are Farage and co who have probably made a fortune on watching the pound nose dive over the last 24 hours. Let's get Britain sovereign eh? Back to its Imperial past? The only problem is that now slavery has been outlawed you won't be able to rape and pillage the third world countries upon which British wealth was built. The referendum was advisory only. Parliament is there to make sure the best happens for the UK and by doing their jobs properly and by thwarting a no-deal Brexit, this is democracy at its finest. Now a lot more is known about the issues, why not another referendum? What are Brexiteers so frightened about if they are sure it's 'the will of the people'? Love this from the Daily Mail which sums up the attitude of many

No she wasn't. She was just playing the game. The rhetoric over here is to get a deal and make sure you screw the UK and give the UK the bones as they will be so desperate for a deal. Blimey, May even did a tour of the African countries Britain has abused over the centuries to try to get a deal. Ardren's doing a great job over here.

I don't think anybody much cares what the rhetoric over there is and I couldn't imagine Britain ever being so desperate for a deal with New Zealand that the Brits get shafted. Any way, should the UK and NZ really be trading in this day and age when we've only got 12 years to live? Surely they should thinking of all that nasty, poisonous carbon dioxide being released as a consequence?

If you want to experience true racism just ask the average Eastern European what he thinks of black or Asian people. Let's not also forget that three of the major countries in the EU have been ruled by fascist/nazi governments within living memory. There is no organisation more racist than the EU.

Also - for those who keep whining on about Brexit being the democratic will of the people, lets just remember the lies and the vast and illegal sums spent on those lies. Facebook was key. Will it ever be possible to hold a democratic election in the new media age if Facebook can get away with this sh1t? This is 15 minutes - watch this and weep. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSMr-3GGvQ

I guess the major positive in getting a no deal Brexit will be that the Conservative Party will be nothing more than the smoldering remains of a million pieces of paper with "Feed them horseshit" written on them, all fluttering in the still winter night. All the Brexit Bunch will have returned to their normal lives where they don't have to talk about politics (probably watching that programme on the telly) and the throngs of enraged lefties will have all either thrown themselves off the top of art galleries or will be in prison for attacking old people who think the Queen is a lovely lady.
Either way, as a species, we can't really lose.

You also seem happy to judge a country by it's ideals from long ago. Shall I remind you Britain doesn't have a clean past? Colonialism and the slave trade? And anyway if other countries are more racist than us, it doesn't excuse the racism that goes on here. And if you truley think there's no racism in Britain you are naive or ignorant. There is no reason why anyone should be treated differently because if their appearance or religion.

Here's a link that proves my point about the UK being the most tolerant and Eastern Europeans being the most racist. www.indy100.com/article/european-countriesracist-study-european-union-map-prejudice-survey-7893106As for your dig at the British Empire, maybe there might be the odd regrettable incident but by and large the British Empire was something to be proud of. Our humble nation cultured and civilised most of the world, were responsible for the abolition of slavery and also granted our colonies independence when they were ready to govern themselves. I think that should be a source of pride for our country rather than shame.
