The Daily Mail has every right to print what it likes, just as Virgin has the right to stock whichever papers it likes. There's no need for any 'debate', it's that simple. That would be true if Virgin said they were stopping selling the Daily Mail because of poor sales, but they didn't, they said it was because they didn't agree with its political stance. Which is censorship and morally wrong. |

Apparently it's because Branson is pro-Remain. Though whether that means that he is anti-Brexit, or just pro-remain in the British Virgin Islands as a tax exile, is not clear.

Virgin shouldn't be running the trains anyway. Get them back into public hands.
If the railways were re-nationalised and the government refused to sell a particular newspaper for political reasons would people consider that a form of censorship?

I wonder what proportion of total sales of daily newspapers takes place on trains. Most of the time I spend on trains I'm too p!ssed to be able to read anything. I didn't know you could read  Well done virgin. Freedom of expression is one thing but when you publish the garbage the Fail prints and you have a disproportionate influence on a sizeable chunk of the population just because you have heaps of dollars (probably made on the backs of some unfortunate individuals) then you can bugger off IMHO. They don't call me 'Singe the Moderate' for nothing. That's a bit harsh on the moderates. Immolate the extreme, maybe, but singeing the moderates? You'll be giving chinese burns to the indifferent, next. |

I would say that people who read the Mail are much better at thinking for themselves than Guardian readers, who take every word it prints as gospel truth! |

A statement that could reversed time and time again by both sides, generally with little foundation. I'll often have a gander at Guardian articles that appear on social media. A lot make sense and resonate with me. A lot I don't agree with, but they don't upset me. Then there's some that are absolute guff. I've got a mind of my own and can see through what's news, what's propaganda, and what's absolute tosh easy enough. |

Has anyone else noticed that those that have the most blind faith in the lanyardistas (not my phrase, but the quickest way I could think of to reference them) tend to be the most right leaning, and those that are more likely to question things tend to be left leaning.
Not sure what I'm trying to say, and this is by no means scientific, but it does appear to be the case more often than not.
Weird.
