Currently pootling around ME with the Welcome Wagon's cover of Half a Person on loop. Current fave of eldest. Rest of album pants, but produced by Sufjan Stevens whose latest has been on constant rotation for the last few months at Lexington Towers, along with Bop English, Courtney Barnett, The Go!Team, Blur, Wolf Alice and Waiting Around for Grace by Pond (which makes up for Tame Impala's newest's lack of geetars).

Love the new Jason Isbell album (even more than his last one which was pretty special)
This year I have mostly enjoyed the above, the latest Sufjan (it makes me very proud that my 19 year old daughter is a huge Sufjan fan too), the SFA back catalogue (saw them in Gloucester and realized what I had missed), and the brilliant Sleaford Mods. And, somewhat to my surprise, the latest Steven Wilson.
Seen the aforementioned SFA, Young Fathers and Everything Everything who are beginning to improve and iron out some of their more annoying habits.
Lex-mention of Bop English. Saw White Denim last year. They had a habit of going on a bit...

Today, I have been mostly listening to;
Long John Laundry - Voodoo Charm
Rival Sons - Great Western Valkyrie
Henry's Funeral Shoe - Everything's For Sale
Blues Pills - Blues Pills*
I can't help it, Rock 'n' Roll is in my soul.
*I said Blues Pills no blue pills

June was my Chameleons month. Suddenly gone weird by listening to McAlmont and Geneva and bought Andrew Montgomery's solo album. Isa and the Dirty Tongues/Goodbye Mr McKenzie next week.
Lost Boys on repeat too. Paul Weller's favourite young band the Lost Boys are playing at Left Bank Sept 19th as part of Herefordshire Festival of Sport, free entry. They are in Black Barn studios with Weller recording their next single in a few weeks. They could be really big.

Are the Lost Boys that band that those 2 lads that supported XSLF at The Victory play in? Fairplay they were decent that night!

Yes, there are 5 in the full band. Joel and Daniel came up from Southampton for the evening just to play to get their name known that night. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu2-xwYHVe0

Excellent, I've put that down in my gig diary, the back half of this year is filling up quite nicely.

Please clarify your abrupt "forum outing" statement, CB.
Despite checking in the etiquette guide I'm not sure what you're suggesting, but must say I'm surprised if you're meaning what I'm thinking.

He's offering to arrange a forum trip to see Jason Isbell at the Trinity in Jan.
On Confguide this would have been known as a BUMFEST but I don't think that ever made the Etiquette thread. Doubtless Differs will do the honours if he's in the mood.

This is no Confguide with its BUMFESTS, cliques or indecipherable in jokes.
So HTFU. or Admin will bang you in the pond.
(anyone for Disposable Hatstand at the Slough Gas Factory next month?)

Being old and going to too many concerts has given me the joyous gift of tinnitus. Now have to be very selective about who I go and see. Last concert was UK's farewell tour (shortly before John Wetton had surgery to remove a 1 kg tumour). Next up is possibly/probably Chameleons Vox farewell tour.
All these farewell tours - seems I'm not the only poor sod feeling my age.

I have tinnitus from seeing Sugar twice in a week on the Beaster tour in the mid 90s.
It wasn't helped by seeing Bob Mould at the Fleece in Bristol last November. So loud he made my ears hurt.

And just try www.youtube.com/watch?v=osl4YLCfOKk it's about 3 mins.. SFA one of the most underrated bands ever. Edit: * I just checked this. All the songs are less than 5 mins long. I just remember the album boring the arse off me at the time.
