Right decision.
Now then
1. Amend the constitution so that it no longer refers to a defunct football club 2. Adopt and publish definitive election procedures 3. Don't treat your membership like rhubarb
Time to make the Trust fit for purpose. And that means doing so by appointing an independent (ie no connection with the HFC board) working group to do so with clarity and openness.
and if that happens, for my part, a definitive line can be drawn in the sand.

So, the AGM will go ahead without the election element, which entails the bulk of the agenda going ahead , but at some point in the future an EGM to facilitate the election then? Would it be more efficient to reschedule the whole lot?

Would it be more efficient to reschedule the whole lot? I think that the AGM itself is as dodgy as the Election. It would be better postponed.

While I'm sure most people find constitutions, regulations and procedures intrinsically dull, the AGM would be the the place to review all these items. These structures are needed for proper governance, and they need to be clear to all.

It is crucial to good governance, if there are errors or omissions in policy or procedure raised by the EMG, that these are drawn to the attention of the HUST board and made clear to the members, so that we can see what is wrong and how to put it right. That this email appears without details of the issues is not the most helpful.

Equally, if a frivolous or capricious complaint is received that would also be seen for what it is. Clarity.

That this email appears without details of the issues is not the most helpful. The Board of HUST are in a very embarrassing situation. They need to make a statement or the speculation meter will shift to overload.

The trouble is, what people don't get told they tend to speculate or make up - I'm sure that doesn't happen on this forum.....but, let's just get things put right - assuming there is something amiss in the first place.

This probably sounds like I am having a bit of a stir, but this is surely a prime article for Bulls News.

I think this raises a serious point. If anyone stepped up and said "Fair cop. I'm responsible for Andy Munsley, all the articles posted on Bulls News in his name and the erratic moderation, and ultimately the closure, of Bulls Banter", would anyone believe them?

Depends on the name put forward
I would suggest that if no one has been willing to take the rap so far then your unlikely to get a patsy put up for the role now....
Unless graham is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice of course (smiley winky thing)

Yep, time for a clean line in the sand here.
Separately, there's something intrinsically unhealthy if each of the announced candidates has to be nominated by either or both of the existing chair or vice-chair. Particularly given there's an alleged cloud over the motivations of one of those individuals. That's not going to change overnight, but if HUST can be seen to be a mature organisation, demonstrably following its own rules, rather than a cosy coterie of mates who've always wanted to run a football club - then maybe fresh blood might be more tempted to stand, and work out exactly what role HUST needs to serve in this HFC/HUST partnership. That is, if that hasn't happened already, and the fresh blood was weeded out of the nominations, by failing 'interviews'.

If the election is postponed but the agm goes ahead.......
Whats to stop them from co-opting whoever they like on to the board whilst we wait for a review of the election policy to be completed?
They could in effect continue to run things as they see fit for the next 12 months. By that time who knows what will have happened. And conveniently the 2 prime movers and shakers will have finished there 2 years of tenure and will be able to walk away never having been held to account.

Are they sufficiently quorate to be able to co-opt?

Are they sufficiently quorate to be able to co-opt? Didn't they just co-opt a new man for the communications role?
