Got to be better than that. Ignoring the fact we could be 2 or 3 up, the football has been rubbish - our CB should be banned from hitting a pass more than 10 yards, not because they can't do it but because there is no bloody need!! So much space today, they are hardly pressing, but nobody even attempting to play the easy ball through the lines to Pablo or Birch or whoever is in space.
Crack the cliches out; it's a very simple game, let the ball do the work etc... and stop hitting 40 yard balls to a front two that aren suited to it. Drop the wide players slightly deeper, give an option to the CMs and KEEP THE BALL ON THE DECK!!

You could have posted that during any game this season. What's the score btw?

Sounds like they're bunching. It often happens at lower levels of football as the excited players all seek a kick of the ball. Nothing can be done about it I'm afraid, no matter how many times you tell them to keep to their positions the urge to chase the football always wins over. You'll just have to get used to it.

It should be pointed out that we won 2-1 with their only chance being the underhit backpass resulting in their goal. Mills had an off day - which he is allowed - and probably had 7 or 8 shots, of which on another day he might have stuck half away so the result was extremely comfortable.
I just don't get why we are making it so difficult for ourselves when there is so much space to play through teams?! Insisting on trying to hit it long into the limited space behind their defence has barely worked once this season and the times we do manage to play a bit of football we create chances.
Just so frustrating!!

Awful game again. A win is a win but the football is dire. Getting close to ripping up the season ticket.

The football isn't that bad, after all we are now playing level 6 football(?) but we do need to play the ball a little more on the floor, and get a decent right back. was it Oates playing right back? anyway, could not decide what to do with the ball when he had it, always seemed to make the wrong decision, when Hughes came on for Wheatley everyone forgot that we had a right winger still on the pitch, many times in space ( against a very poor number 4) but very rarely used. But 3 points are 3 points.

Good entertainment. Should have scored more but Mills was having one of those days. Not happy with Oates - he went missing for their second goal last week as well. Max K-C played well at RB in the early games - is he on the naughty step for going on holiday? Please lets not have any more of that nonsense.

You know they are going to make mistakes but compared to some of what we have had to endure down the years, this is quite pleasing on the eye. Mills had an off day otherwise we would have scored a sack full. The defence made one mistake and got punished. My only moan was the decision to sub Sol. Baffling as he was having a good game. Putting Hughes on in his position just didn't work. Special mention to Adam Page. MOM for me.

Really wish Wheatley could get his brain and legs to work in tandem, at times today it looked like he lost control of his legs, at other times he waved his arms around so much you wondered if he was going to take off. When he was taken off the team seemed to forget that Hughes was on in his place, he had loads of room at times.

It's a long journey and I didn't enjoy the first 25 minutes at all, for precisely the reasons laid out by castlebull. People do not travel hundreds of miles to watch floaty-hopey football, diagonals into the corners with no real point. That's not to be confused with some of the better balls second half, in the air but with a specific purpose. Even so, first half and second half we looked more comfortable playing it ON THE DECK. It's what we do best. It's our style. So cut out the cr*p !!!. Very enjoyable last hour or so. But we only have half a defence (left central and left back). So we need two more defenders. And I felt for Jamie, who was looknig for a simple out-ball and no f*fecker was coming short to show for him. Sort it out Beads. Simple to do so, should have happened already. Thank Heavens, a lovely memory to take away, the free kick. The second you saw it coming over the wall you knew it was a goal. And I stood next to a gentleman on the Meadow End whose first game was in 1958. That's what makes it special.

Birch had a good game, as he did at Heanor. Much improved from earlier games.
Max KC a better RB than Jimmy O.
Pablos free kick should be goal of the season for this league, a cracker.
A bit surprised at criticism of John Mills, got into position several times and just had no luck especially his double hit the post towards the end.
We were by far the better team, with a bit of luck could have won by 3 or 4.
My only concern was conceding another soft goal.

Mills is a good scorer but on the days when he doesn't find the net his contribution is minimal I'm afraid.

Whose defence-splitting ball for our first goal? The bloke next to me thought Mills?

Mills is a good scorer but on the days when he doesn't find the net his contribution is minimal I'm afraid. Just checked the video. Mills made the first goal with a defence-splitting pass. So basically when he doesn't find the net he makes one of our two goals instead. Sorry that displeases you.

The reason the ball into the channels was so prominent yesterday was the fact our midfield 2 haven't got the ability or speed of thought to utilise the space, this is where rob Purdie shows his worth, he comes receives uses the ball pass and move, links up with Pablo, keeps the ball moving, his movement and speed of thought would have ripped them apart yesterday, the full backs need to get forward more and support our wingers sol especially give and go it's another attacking option when sides put men behind the ball, get in behind them with Bonella playing so deep at times you can afford for them to do so. But again if we had taken our chances or even half chances we score 5-6, I think Pablo misses purds even though he was superb again yesterday, that football brain is 2 yards quicker in the head.
