I thought this was going to be about Munsley's legs having gone.

Terribly disappointing for Lee, the guy is a class act.
Wales are a huge threat to us English in the group stages, but it's the World Cup, and all rugby fans want to see the best players in action.

A reprieve for Sir James Hook? Hopefully. Can play 10, 15 and in the centre. Decent kicker (particularly from distance).

Were you at the Saracens match, Glos? That kick was never in doubt.

They said that about Thorburn at Hereford Cathedral School but then they lost to us 60-0.

A reprieve for Sir James Hook? When I said that all rugby fans want to see the best players in action, perhaps I should have qualified it by saying that I was happy to see Sir James turning out for Glos during the RWC.
If Gats calls up James (it beggars belief that he left him out in the first place), with Billy Burns' injury (not sure how serious that is) it would certainly be an early step up for young Mat Protheroe. He is an exciting prospect!!! Maybe use 36 at fly half as well.
Sad news also for Rhys Webb, another hugely talented Welsh player who could have set this world cup alight.
PS. Sorry to all those who are exclusively football fans for this post

Do you remember Rob Ackermann, egg-chaser? Played for Wales and the British Lions in the end, went off to rugby league? He was the only bloke who completely embarrassed me with his skill and power on a rugby field, out-classed me so badly and put me to shame so completely that I was almost embarrassed to call myself a full-back by the end. We were 10-9 up against Christ's College Brecon at half time. They beat us 50-10 and Ackermann was literally dancing through us and taking the mick by the end. He was even smashing our forwards. He was 19 by then, he'd stayed at school another year. But even at 18 he would have put me to the sword. Still hurts to this day.

I wouldn't be embarrassed if I was you, if he was 19 when he played you he wasn't far off making his Welsh debut. He also toured NZ with the lions a few years later. I'm not sure if he made the test team, but you're still class if you're picked in the party. I'm not sure how he did in the 13 man code.
I played against Christ's College a few times in the late 60s, early 70s. Lucky enough to have been on the winning side each time. Close games, mainly because they tried to deter opposing players from tackling them by not washing their rugby kit during term time. Apparently, the most pleasant games against them were at the beginning of the term.
Scrumming down against them was like putting your head inside a Siamese stoker's starboard seaboot stocking.

Just to qualify my previous, I may be confusing Christ's College with Llandovery College. It was a long time ago
