It's perfectly simple. Like the old BB board you just subdivide this board into a main forum and a "snorting bull" forum for off topic childishness. If people try to derail a thread with jokes and off topic posts, delete the posts and send the poster a warning. If they persist ban them for a few days, if they carry on, ban them permanently.


If you do all that you might make a decent moderator yet!

For goodness sake, take a step back and lower the level of ignorance please.

If you take a look at some of the threads initiated by 'Admin' when the forum first opened it was openly discussed whether a sub-section was necessary. It was agreed by most at the time that putting O/T in the thread title would suffice.

As for jc, he most definitely isn't Martin - I know this because all of the moderators identified themselves to one another from the outset. He's an experienced moderator of other forums (Not BB) and is doing a very good job of helping on this forum which has already proved quite lively in it's short lifetime.

I don't know whether you intentionally set out to wind people up with your condescending tone or if it is just a trait you possess naturally but it really does grow quite tiresome.

The old board got closed down because moderation became a problem. This forum was set up to be specifically light to the touch moderation wise. There are a few on here whom have caused an issue and I have moderated on those issues. I think they will tell you how I operated.

If thus board wishes, those of us whom moderate on here, whom give up a lot of our valuable time freely to do so, can implement the type of moderation you demand, but one word out of place, one insult or offensive word used, one misconstrued attempt at a joke, one thread that could be deemed in anyway to be causing an offence and I will moderate the hell out of it. I have no doubt whatsoever we will be issuing bans galore.
