Can't sign him he has never played for HUFC and is under 25 the fans won't allow it I am sure Peter Beadle reads this forum and picks his team accordingly This potential signing has been demanded by the Forum so that trumps the ex-player and age requirements.

just trying to squeeze more money out of the deal! I wouldn't blame him for that, he knows we have a major defensive problem. Good opportunity for him though, you'd have to question his ambition if he decided to stay put.

He says it's not set in stone but I would imagine he will be made a very decent offer and the chance to be part of a long term project. Sounds exactly what were looking for.

His twitter bio says he's 'ambitious' - this should show how ambitious he really is.

From what I've heard and by looking at those twitter comments I'd still be very surprised (but pleased) if this deal did happen. At this level wages aren't the be all and end all.

I'm not so sure, to me his 'be hard to leave that behind' comment suggests that he is at least considering doing precisely that.

TBF he has nothing to lose. I'm sure if he came to ES and it didn't work out or he didn't enjoy it as much Stourport would quite rightly welcome him back with open arms.
Not counting my chickens quite yet though; seems very happy there.

Transfer rules aren't as strict at this level so if it doesn't work out it should be simple to go back to stourport. Come on Jamie, we'd love you here, what have you got to lose...

From Stourport website: Jamie Willets – Central Defender (23) Height 6ft.3in. Weight 13 st 10lb Previous clubs: Cradley Town. Little known fact about me: I have a BA Hons. In History – and my tattoos are rubbish! Fascinated to see no mention of his sojourn as a chargehand at the Chicko? Perhaps he's a little coy about his nickname "Sausage". Might further ramp up expectations.
So the chap previously known as peoffrey wasn't the only intellectual on the conveyor belt, after all. Well, well.

Will he still be able to play for Ferndale on a Sunday?

This would be a great signing if we can get him. He impressed me no end. He is the commanding figure we need at the back and reads the game well. Could make all the difference.

Well I started a "We need men not boys" thread back in July and was shouted down by the Forum Clique who said we could still win the league with a bunch of teenagers and the squad was fine as it was. Now it seems Beadle's been reading my posts and has decided to take action, just a pity he's waited till we've dropped 9 needless points before making his move! Get over yourself.

A great signing. 6 years at Stourport previously club Cradley Town. FFS. I'm seething this morning. What if we had played Heanor Town away instead of Stourport the other day. Would their CH now be the answer to our dreams? Not a very wide net being cast if all we do is read this forum. I thought Beadle had signed 20+ players. Five games in he's changing things. For a defender who doesn't have to pass just occupy 6ft 4ins of air space. Oh joy! What a shambolic, state of affairs. If you wanted a fans led team, run a Supporters Team every week. Shocking.

I'm struggling to see your point here. Don't worry though, I'm sure I'm the only one...

I'm struggling to see your point here. Don't worry though, I'm sure I'm the only one... It's pretty obvious, isn't it? Beadle's had possibly the longest pre-season any manager has ever had, what with being appointed back in April. He's had 5 months to scout potential signings, research the league we're in and the standard of players required and only now, 5 games into the season, has he realised that we need more experience at the back. And, as BSM points out, he could cast his net a bit wider than just looking at players we've already played against! From what I've read he is one of the best players in the league so I don't think it's exactly just who we've played against. Being from Stourport is isn't from too far away which probably increases the chances of him saying yes as he can probably keep his day job, stay living there and still play for us. Players from the other side of the country are very unlikely to join as not many people would move across the country to play for a part time football club. If Beadle can sign him this would be a great bit of business from him and could be what we need to push on up the table.

Or he could get in players that have played in this league for a number of years, captains the side who are top of the league, and meets the credentials of a centre half we need. I know your just trying to wind people up on here, but wind your neck in for once hey.

Sack Pellegrini, Sack Mourinho, Sack Van Gaal - they've all obviously been sat on their harris' all pre-season.
