Not sure what point you're making here (neither do I know the answer, nor can I be fussed to research it) There are a lot of decent young British footballers at Hartpury. As there are at Academies round the country. Jimmy Oates was there of course as well as Kidderminster's current top scorer. (Ed Williams) Are you suggesting that his role at Hartpury is in some way detrimental? If it assists, my earlier post was related to his role there and the facilities. (Addressed to (not the real) Up the Bulls) Don’t recall saying it was detrimental? Maybe you’d like to think that’s perhaps what I meant? Anyway, off to buy some rose tinted glasses.

This is Simon Davey mk2. A naive board swayed by modern manager business speak and absolutely hollow promises. Christ on a bike. I refuse to believe Richards was the most qualified (and no I don’t mean lightweight PE degree from shite polytechnics type qualified) candidate who applied. Therefore Harris has made the decision; when we are rock bottom at Christmas the whole lot should be gone.

To an outsider the appointment does look like it was something of a fait accompli once Harris became Director of Football. It's another indication perhaps that the modus operandi is moving somewhat further away from the entertainment business and more into manufacturing. That is, the emphasis will be on nurturing our own talent from raw materials and selling on the near finished article. That does look like the long-term plan, and initially anyway we should probably expect the brakes to be firmly applied to our charge up through the Leagues and I would expect attendances to fall sharply as a result. Whether that strategy works or not remains to be seen of course, but developing and selling on hungry young players such as Parry, McIndoe, Mahon, Gavin and Andy Williams etc worked well for GT and was a major contribution to our sustainability in some of those difficult wilderness years in the Conference. Marc Richards clearly has an eye for promising young players. I see that when Hereford FC started up he was the man who recommended Sol Wheatley and Nathan Summers to Peter Beadle.

This is a joke and a very bad one at that. This literally makes no sense whatsoever. If Gloucester were sitting in or around the fringes of the play-offs there might be some merit but they're currently sat in 17th. I mean are we after some form of success or is this more about everyone looking after their old mates? Did you even bother to look at the points tally in the National League South or just their position? Gloucester may be 17th, but they actually ARE on the fringes of a play off place - they are 8 points above the relegation zone and only 4 off the play offs.

Despite an increasingly similar hairstyle, I’m definitely not Marc, just pointing out there position in the league!

Is Will Morford any good? Is he likely to get many games?

Yes, they're clearly doing very well. 4 wins in 11 games and -5 goal difference. I'm only 14 points behind them and I'm not even a Football Club.

Beadle was only 3 points off a playoff place, with a game in hand, and in a much tougher league

We’re currently on course for 3 wins in 11 and -5 goal difference. And our average crowds are 5 times the size. And Gloucester don’t receive food and drink income like us. And they have a 50 mile round trip for every home game and the increased travel costs and suppressing their following further. Given the budget Gloucester have compared to us, they have done very well. A lot of our fans think we have the ‘right’ to be in the National League or League 2 because ‘we are Hereford’. The truth of the matter though, is that although we are Hereford, we are Hereford FC and not Hereford United and don’t have a ‘right’ to be anywhere, we have to earn it.

Right. I've read all of this thread and that's it for me. Two -nil to Chester. Feck you all. I'm off to follow a blind Bee Gees tribute band, whoever their manager is.

Didn't someone say that a Championship manager was one of the applicants? I think it was Jay Cartwright.

I want a cup of whatever timmeee is drinking. Jesus wept. I was banned Sine Die from Worcestershire County Cricket forum for saying Jesus Wept. A "committed Christian" complained. It meant another Christian was committed. One wept.

I want a cup of whatever timmeee is drinking. Jesus wept. Haha, what I’m drinking isn’t even legal outside of Belarus. Sorry, I just find some of the continual pessimism on here frustrating. I can understand why Marc might come across as underwhelming, but he needs to be given a chance. I keep an eye on a lot of local non league football and it may not seem like it to some but Gloucester have been punching above their weight - especially when they were in the National league North and a lot of this is down to Tim and Marc, their experience and contacts. We shouldn’t belittle Gloucester, what they have achieved given their circumstances is quite something.
