I have just returned from the ground where I met a lone workman. He told me that the new lights would not be erected in the foreseeable future. The reason is that there is a problem with the foundations. He said that it is now in the hands of the council.

That's quite positive for construction.

One thing that would be quite good if they can do it once the new floodlights are in is if they can get rid of that one old floodlight near Radford's that is always a pinch point round there.

Apparently, until the new lights are ready, there is a contingency plan to ask all the supporters to hold up their phones with the torch on. It'll be similar to Leonard Cohen's 1970 Isle of Wight festival appearance*; if there's any fan aggro before the game, it'll be exactly like Leonard Cohen's 1970 Isle of Wight featival appearance. * - Obviously, without wanting to be patronising**, it was lighters and matches, then. ** - On second thoughts, why shouldn't I want to be patronising.

That would leave the ground looking a bit lopsided, though I accept the point made about getting into Radfords, particularly between 15.23 and 15.26 when all normal creatures are ready for a top-up. I suppose the obvious answer would be to remove only the bottom section of the offending pylon.
