None of the ball crossed the line from that angle? It was on the line, with the majority of the ball still in the field of play. Or has science changed? Very poor decision, but a win none the less.

With Chapman and a defender covering the ball on the line and a further defender on the other side of the goal blocking the linesman’s view I fail to see how he could be sure it had crossed the line unless he had a drone. I think he came off early to make a dash for his car before the match ended.

I remember a lad having a brilliant bit of banter with a linesman down the home bit of the Len Weston side of the touchline. Must have been late 80s.
A really funny lad called Terry Marsh who I don't think goes that much anymore.
The linesman flagged and he started something along the lines of "oi linesman I know where your car is parked". He kept it going for ages. It involved a Ford Capri. The linesman was loving it.

I laugh even now.

Absolutely, did what they all do after a near miss with hands going up to the head.He looked very sheepish and momentarily lost when it was given ,then scarpered. What we already know, genuine sportsmanship difficult to find in todays world.

It was such a shame when the Len Weston Lino started doing the Blackfriars end of the pitch. We used to have so much fun, especially when the assistant referee went along with it.

Especially one Stan Phelps who played cricket for Winget in the Three counties League. He never really knew who was giving him some 'advice'!
