Right, let's get this place out of maintenance mode... I have got about twenty years worth of these, and can go back further at some point. So, starting with the year 1974, I want a 7-a-side team (I think each of the years can just about cope with that), Goalkeeper-2 Defenders-2 Midfielders-2 Attackers. I am not sure this vintage would win the tournament, but at least there are plenty of attacking options, of sorts. I think books, Google, or the below may be needed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hereford_United_F.C._playersBorn 1974 Andy Debont 7th February 1974 Mark Druce 3rd March 1974 Matthew Gardiner 28th March 1974 Stacy Coldicott 29th April 1974 Scott Voice 12th August 1974 Mike Kottila 22nd September 1974 Steve Piearce 27th September 1974 Stephen Cowe 29th September 1974 Darren Evans 30th September 1974 Ade Akinbiyi 10th October 1974 Mick Galloway 13th October 1974 Mike Davis 19th October 1974 P.S. Alternatively please feel free to retrospectively "celebrate" the players. John Snape was born July 6th 1969 before anyone starts. I haven't done that year yet.

Very attacking line up with a very dodgy defence, Darren Evans aside.
Have been looking at who I would line up with from 1961. Struggling to find anyone (think Scud was a contemporary) but realistically I’m looking at players between 1979 and 1997/98. Will have to find those who would play to my strengths/cover my weaknesses.
I did once line up in midfield in a charity game with Geoff Merrick and Jonathan Pearce. And once played against Dave Jones. Badly.
edit Stewart Phillips Nicky Cross Andy Feeley Bruce Halliday Mark A Jones Nicky Law Gary Phillips Chris Pike Steve Spooner
Thats a very decent 7 aside team there.

Tony Elliot John Snape Chris Fry Owen Pickard Leroy May
If anyone can be bothered to make suggestions for 1969 then go for it. I've given up.
I chose 1969 for Snape. Turns out it was more hassle than it was worth!

Out of the 3 teams above, I'd only play my team against Marty's; WL and CB select 9 players in a 7-a-side team. The selection equivalent of Fergie time.

Mine’s a squad of ten with 6 starters, myself running around aimlessly and three tutting on the sidelines waiting to be rolling subbed on.
I’ll give myself 3 mins max

I’ll give myself 3 mins max I gave up playing 5 and 6-a-side when I was in my fifties; when my head could see passes and positions that my legs couldn't keep up with. When your head is that far ahead of your legs, you tend to fall over a lot.

1974 people you wreckers. Ok. anyway…when I was looking through the list I stumbled across the name Kris Hicks who apparently played 17 games at the arse end of the nineties. I have absolutely no memory whatsoever of him. It’s possible he was born in 1974 as he doesn’t seem to have a wiki page and the age would fit. is this a made up player like in the season that didn’t happen? Anyone?

I wasn't born in 1974, nor was my brother. I hope this helps
