Couldn't find the thread.
Todays result.
Pros - There will be grumblings but 3 clean sheets in a row in the league is a massive plus. Tucked just outside the play offs things appear relatively bright.
Cons - Goals have dried up and the cup was a disaster for us. 1 win in 7 is poor no arguments.

Didn't we have a good goal chalked off for offside? Only going on some reactions.

The biggest con of all is a win rate in the league of just 30%. Even Gowling had a better win rate than that.

Another good point.
Away we appear to be real play off candidates.
If only we can sort out our home form.

Another good point. Away we appear to be real play off candidates. If only we can sort out our home form.I blame the home fans, players are obviously nervous playing in front of a big crowd. I suggest that instead of going to the game, we all stay in the pub and generate positive vibes* with total mass concentration. Luckily for us, GCE 'O' level Chemistry tells us that this does not decrease with the volume of liquid imbibed** * - Anybody not wishing to join us can stay on here with the negative vibes department. ** - The standard formula for total mass concentration is C = m/V, where C is the concentration, m is the mass of the solute dissolved, and V is the total volume of the solution.

A point against Alfreton is a good result.
Hopefully this new 8ft warrior from Tamworth will start banging them in.

This league is so evenly matched with 7 draws out of the 12 games and even Scunthorpe drew with Oxford at the other end of the table. If we get a true goal scorer we should at least make the play offs. This could be Deacon or perhaps a forward who has shown the genius quality in a lower division. We can but hope as we always do!

Or, because we're so close to the Welsh border and not allowed to say beacon any more, is it Ty Bannau (nice rhyme that).

Two loses and its a shit start. Two draws and we will be heading for a record.

A draw is rarely a good result because if there are three points on offer and you only get one, you've only achieved 30% of your target. Yes, we've only lost once all season but if we'd won five and lost five of our first ten games we'd have the same number of points. That's why, if you're drawing with a few minutes to go, you should go all out to nick a win rather than settling for a point.

Because in that world, should the oppo nick the three, it makes no odds come April. Even if that oppo are almost certainly going to be scrapping with you for a play off spot. Brilliant Ted.

That's one way of looking at it. But if you go all out for a winner and win one week then loose the next you've got 3 points from 2 games. Settle for the draw each time and you only get 2 points. And that extra point could, come the end of the season, be the difference between making the play offs and missing out.

Ok so maybe it’s really about who/where you’re playing. At home against a struggler, go for it, away at a ‘top’ side, take the point. Which I think we do.

Two iffy decisions have cost us four points would have been 2 points behind Scunthorpe and second best goal difference
