Unlike me to go all claret and blue admittedly but bloody hell, that's sad news. They had a cracking team for a couple of seasons back in the day - hugely entertaining - and Gary was an enormous part of it until he did his knee.
RIP Gary Shaw.

Handsome bugger too. When I first started getting into football.
My mate pointed out that Ian Bowyer knackered said knee.
RIP

Tommy Hughes Testimonial? October 11th 1982?
One of my favourite childhood memories. The halftime European Cup mayhem.

Having watched TV footage this evening featuring the late Gary Shaw, the pitches in those days were like ploughed fields. Compare and contrast with the surface Ben Bowen nurtures at Edgar Street these days for a team plying its trade in the 6th tier. RIP Gary.

Very sad end, he was an alcoholic and fell over ended up in a coma. Sad ending for a true poster boy RIP Gary. At least Villa did him proud in Berne.

Very sad. Back in 1982 when I had hair, I asked the barber for a Gary Shaw and I got that slightly iffy mullet cut he sported. Kept it like that for years, and when I started my first job in London, on being introduced to a colleague, he asked if I was a Villa fan. I asked why and he said it was my hairstyle!
RIP Gary

Personally, I would consider either of those a mullet.
But I am a product of my generation, so who knows.
Edit: sorry, just to add
RIP Gary Shaw. Very sad news.
