Going to keep bashing them out twice a week until the season kicks off then drop them down to once a week.

One thing I noticed that is most telling about how football and the life of a footballer has changed is this...
I have uploaded only 8 programmes in Hereford Uniteds first ever season in Division 4 and they have already been faced with two players that had appeared in an FA Cup final. I would imagine if you did it across the 4th tier over the entire 1970s decade and compared it with the last 10 years it would be like night and day.
I would like it if Paul Parry snuck into the last decade, however I cannot see too many existing top flight players seeing out their days at Mansfield.

Perry again turned out at Wembley for Blackpool v Bolton, this time in 1953 ("The Matthews Final"), scoring the fourth, and winning, goal. Ray Daniel (HUFC 1960-67), played for Arsenal in the 1952 FA Cup Final against Newcastle. Although born in South Africa, Perry played 3 times for England. Swansea born Daniel played 21 times for Wales. As they were both at the club in the 1963-64 season, it's likely they played together for Hereford United. You're right, football has changed a bit. 😉 |
