The other thing to say to all teams playing in the fa cup including premier league teams is to say if you don't want replays don't bother to enter the cup in the first place . Premier league teams. We don't need you fu*k off

The FA spokesman claims over 60% of FA revenue to reinvest into the game comes from the FA Cup. Sounds a simple task to change decision then. If all non Premiership clubs withdraw their application for 24/25 season then revenue would be badly hit. How would FA fulfill its tv contract to supply games with only 20 clubs left? Alternatively supporters could boycott the games en masse and each tie would probably see both clubs trying to lose, not a spectacle that tv could keep showing an audience. The real truth here is that 709 clubs have no interest in the European competitions and at least 10 Premiership clubs can be added to that. The protests from those European competing clubs are pretty hollow when I can remember as an example squad number 84 playing for Liverpool in an EFL Cup tie. The FA Cup has over 100 years of history in an original format designed to have the chance of the smallest playing the mightiest. The Champions League (post European Cup era) a history of desperately seeking to make more money at the expense of entertaining and meaningful games (the group stages). I know which I prefer and if it means waving goodbye to Liverpool, Arsenal etc, then I won’t be shedding tears.

"The dreams of so many denied by so few".
A 'spot-on' statement from Grimsby FC.

The extra £31m or so, will not be enough for the smaller clubs once filtered down the system. In fact it would be peanuts!!!! Compare this to TV money, full crowds, large away gates etc.
It is an absolutely "F YOU" to any club below the Premier league, maybe even Championship.
Scrapping the league cup first, would have been a better option.
Every club should write to the FA and their MP.
Disgusting.

The Europe wide mood stopped that breakaway league in its tracks. A few on here have suggested that fan/club power would maybe do the trick. Let's hope so.
The Champions League is a formulaic dull fest anyway. If it wasn't for the oodles of cash it generated it would be nothing.
It is the T20 cricket of football. Where all the dough is, enjoyable with impressive skills on show when you watch it, but instantly forgettable.
I know it is cricket but Jonathan Agnew who has commentated on several million cricket matches said he was confident that he could remember something that happened in every single test match that he has witnessed. He said that T20 is just a blur. That is how the Champions League feels.

Some minor compensation in this weeks European results. Looks as if the Premiershi* has lost a place in the European Soccaball Ladder™️ (which is about to be more akin to the Hundred than 20/20)

Lets be honest the fa is not fit for purpose and is just an excuse for a load of old public school blazers to give themselves a sense of entitlement, the fa have not had any real say in running the game since the premiership started, the major decisions regarding the english game are made in american and arabian boardrooms now who dont give a fig about the lower levels.its all about squeezing as much cash out of the paying punter as possible and if a few clubs fall by the wayside then thats ok as it means more potental customers for them. Also just what difference does cutting replays make, how many non league or efl 1/2 players will be going to play in these extra european games, its not like these big clubs put out 1st or even 2nd choice sides anyway against us minnows.

I would accept this plan so long as a rule was introduced that all FA cup ties are played at the home of the lowest placed club.

Something fishy going on the fa have issued a statement trying to show the benefits to lower clubs. First time they have done any work in such a small space of time. Must have touched a nerve.

Yet another example of the premiership clubs greed. They live in a vacuum and don’t give a stuff about the game in general. They can’t take our memories mr mannering

Still life in the old girl yet.
Might have to get Jess some salmon if Coventry do the honours.

Why is VAR involved in the FA cup. I'll tell you why, it assists the major clubs again! Coventry should be celebrating a fabulous come back and win right now!

Just seen the replay, the cov player was offside because he has a bigger sized foot! Cov were robbed. It's a bloody joke ole mate. The big 6 clubs (I think there's only 6 that think they're big) need VAR to keep their monopoly on the game. It's a form of legalised corruption and it's not going to get any better in our (remaining) lifetime.

Forest have gone pretty big on VAR. Watch the men in suits chuck their weight around over this, and do feck all in places that matter so much more.
