We have been forced to sign injury prone players due to financial issues this season. I say that because on ability players like Downing, Howkins, Lyden are what quality is needed but they miss too many games to keep a settled team. On top of that Williams and Cowley were out for a long time due to injury. Other players have also missed a few games like Ceesay and Obedayi lately. Mendes has been suspended a few times and Teixera a couple of times. All this adds up to inconsistency and short term loan signings to plug gaps. It’s not hard to see why we are likely to miss out on the play offs. Obviously other teams get injuries but we have surely been forced to change our team too much in order to keep some degree of understanding between players.

Why have we been forced to sign injury prone players? We could have signed cheaper but more reliable players instead?

Paul Caddis could have signed some other players surely if he had chosen to, instead of Downing, Lyden and Howkins. He must have thought he needed to go for experience. Probably signed those three because he was concerned about how his other recruits would do since in the main they were stepping up a level.
