Are you saying flipflops or barefoot is the way to go, due to the amount of sand on the pitch.

No rain by the looks. Gonna have a nose, a nice set up. If HFC are putting out a full U18 team they will do well to beat Wellington.
Wellington 3-2 Hereford 209.
My favourite bit of the Wellington ground is that they had approximately 350m of perimeter to play with, and despite this managed to fit one of the two cracking little stands directly behind a floodlight pylon.

Probably 250 there. Game was ruined as a spectacle by an awful pitch.
Actually, it pains me to say it, fair play it was like a bowling green! We need to nip up there and nick their 6 yard boxes.
Wellington started the stronger. Could and probably should have gone 2 up. Hereford kept in it and had a couple of first half chances. Both teams very physical with plenty of fouls and limping around shaking off clattering tackles.
It was men against boys to a point, but I believe Hereford U18s play their league games on a Monday night now which they never used to, so get to play in mens football on a Saturday, and it showed as they were not shy at the physical side of the game.
Hereford took the pens first. All good pens, the 8th pen was saved by Sterry down to his left, giving Hereford a 4-3 mini break. The next penalty was comfortably dispatched, game over.
Not a wasted evening by any means. Peggy in the final?

A fair reflection...other than we should have been 3 up at half time. Young keeper (Sterry?) kept them in it.
Glad you enjoyed it.

If we’re short on Saturday add a couple of these lads to the bench. The young lad MEE looks like he could give it a go.. knows where the net is and doesn’t seem to mind the physical side of it. Would he be any worse than Willo partnering Cowls?

Would he be any worse than Willo partnering Cowls? If we're short of any lads in the Meadow End the next home game we need to bring in them three young lads that were behind the goal. They gave very authentic renditions of "every where we go.....we're the Welly Boys making all the noise" and "if we score we're on the pitch". Brilliant.
