Interesting to hear that BN reports that Caddis said now, with 10 league games until the end of the season, he doesn't care if performances are rubbish.
That's all very well but if you turn in 10 rubbish performances chances are you'll loose most of those games. Sounds like we got lucky today, we won't get lucky every week for the rest of the season.

Big win today. I thought we were fully deserving of the result and so did most around me. Another positive result with 3-5-2 formation and a depleted squad. We have now picked up a good few wins with 3-5-2 formation only losing one which was Gateshead. Thought the travelling support were magnificent. Lyden downing and Williams stay fit then who knows.
Finally what an achievement from the staff and players. 33 points to play for and matched last seasons total already. Well done to all. Big game next week up curzon. Come on the bulls.

Some serious grumbling on the Southport forum, apparently the ref was the main influence on the result. Both goals should have been ruled out and there was nothing in the sending off. I had to laugh at ‘Hereford’s dark arts’ won the match. Bloody about time. Scousers eh? the world is always against them.

Great performance from the travelling away support, very loud on the radio. A desperately needed 3 points. All to play for still.

Can we not put a couple of youth teamers on the bench at least.

Can we not put a couple of youth teamers on the bench at least. Weren't the two nippers who currently have the best first team credentials away on Wales U18 international duty? The young keeper and that blonde haired winger with the proper Welsh first name.

The thing with this season that I keep coming back to is that we had a horrible three week run in late August/early September where we lost 5 of 6 league games. When you take into account we've lost 12 all season that was a lot to lose early on. I imagine a league table starting in mid-September would have us in the top 4. Obviously it's a tight league but that feels like a fairer reflection of how good we are and is what makes me pretty confident we'll finish in the playoffs.

I hope Mr Caddis will have noted that the goal conceded was when we were 2-0 up with four central defenders on the pitch against ten men.

It has already been discussed on here, but if we reach the play offs, is it in the interests of club to go up this season? It’s a real quandary as I’m concerned that if we do, we lack the finances to compete week week out at NL level- case in point being yesterday where we could only field 14 players.
Discussing this in our think tank yesterday (CBJr and myself over a few pints on a stag in Manchester), our view was that would be a season too early (although I think we have the squad to win the play offs)- ideal would be to put up a good show, ideally get a home game or two, miss out by a hugely controversial Woolmeresque decision and launch a massive fund raising drive based on an increased budget to piss this tin pot league by Xmas

One thing that the BN report clocked is that there doesn't seem to be much of a partnership forming between the front 2. None of the recent games have seen anything approaching telepathy between them. Probably being harsh as this isn't the ideal formation given the resources available, but they haven't seemed to hit it off yet and they have had a few goes now.

Tom Pugh entered the fray for Scunthorpe in the 40th minute against Alfreton; a match they went on to win 1-0. This probably means he is part of their plans.
With Babos and Lyden anchoring midfield front and back that should mean he won't be missed.
Just as an update for my colleagues in the local think tank from the correspondent who probably saw him play more minutes for Hereford FC than anybody else on here. Quite enjoy NLN telly for the away and Tuesday games.
With the sound down.

Next season this league could be a lot tougher, we should take the chance when it comes. And I have to disagree that we lack the resources to be competitive in the National League. 30-40 years ago we survived in the football league on gates lower than we get now!

Football completely different from when we were previously at league 2 / conference . A lot of vanity projects be happy if we keep top 10 for a few seasons , odd cup run and sell a few youngsters to have a push .

Probably down to Willo lacking matches, and Cowley, imho, more dangerous as a lone 9 with good service from wide speedsters and canny centre-mids. Wouldn’t object to seeing Willo play in the advanced hole, cert has the touch/football brain for that role.
