The only thing gained out of that is if there was flu/covid outbreak at the Euros and we lost entire 1st team it would be a struggle even against the lesser teams.
ie we gained nothing.

Losing count of the amount of times JB has been free out wide and they've played five passes across the back to get it to Grealish. Yes, I noticed that as well. JB is good enough but I fear he doesn't fit into the England system. West Ham play so differently.

Chris Price and Jimmy Harvey staying with us all that time is something that never made any sense. But I am not too upset about it looking back for obvious reasons.
Jimmy Harvey used to automatically get in that team of the season on an annual basis, then went onto to do the same after leaving, including I believe in the Championship for Tranmere if I am not mistaken.
That would be a good stat for someone to research. Where he sits in the all time list out of the top flights. Must be right up there.

All Division 4 with Hereford unless stated. Price was in it 82/83, 83/84, 84/85, 85/86, 87/88 (Div 2 Blackburn). Harvey was in it 83/84, 84/85, 85/86, 86/87, 88/89 (Div 4 Tranmere), 89/90 (Div 3 Tranmere). Hopefully I have got them all. I may have got a bit excited but how lucky were we? Not even the golden era, we spent most of the decade thinking we were crap. Knock yourselves out.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PFA_Team_of_the_Year

Kevin Sheedy 84/85, 85/87 both for Everton
I don't think Bowen has got any yet.
Might look at Hereford players in general.

Bowen hasn't won any and, unless he goes to a Championship club, it's unlikely that he'll ever win any. Just not fashionable enough to market.
This all sent me down a rabbit hole to do with Hull and I am now absolutely sure that the person who singlehandedly destroyed Hull City was Phil Brown 2008-2010. My God, the number of utterly shit signings he made all for £3/4/5 million each! All played 30 games max and then mostly went out on loan.
That's how to destroy a club!
Obviously this has nothing to do with the thread. But it is of interest to someone, somewhere Probably.

The manager who singlehandedly destroyed Hull City was Phil Brown.

The PFA Team thingy didn't start till 73-74 but it looks we somehow managed to skilfully avoid having any entries bar one Dixie McNeill in the 75-76 promotion season. He went onto grab another one with FC Hollywood.
Will check out out if we got a cheeky one in the late 80s/90s. Narbett or someone maybe snuck in at best.
EDIT: Phil Stant 88/89. Forgot all about him in respect of this. Otherwise blank. Even the Chalky White era. Not sure if we will have had anyone in the second coming.

Bowen has scored in the first five away games according to Sky. Only the third player to do it. The others being Henry and Salah.
It was a jammy goal mind. It looked like it wasn't quite going on target.

I would quite like to see what he could do at one of the Champions League clubs if he were trusted and respected.
He is the definition of '20 Off the Ball' on Champ. Probably has Crossing 19 as well.
He's better off at West Ham though.

It looked like it wasn't quite going on target. Neither Henry nor Salah managed six out of six so it is now an indisputable FACT that JB is better than both of them. Alanisly, he didn't score a single league goal away from home last season.

Now when people in the pubs across the land ponder the eternal question "Has anyone ever scored in the first six away games of a Premier League season?" we can all stand on the table and proudly proclaim "Yes! And it was a boy from Lemner, no less!"

Included in Southgate's latest squad. Nice to see that his inclusion is basically now without question. Hopefully he plays against Malta and does well. He could do with a goal or two, although judging from the last couple of games he might have to take it off the keeper and run it up the pitch himself because nobody bothers to pass to him. Anyway, good news.
