I think the only time the ball was ever in danger of reaching the river Teme was when GT was hoofing it; it would normally have an opposition player with it to keep it company on its travels. I went to Gay Meadow many times.
I don't remember it being in Ludlow. No, neither do I. Don't tell me, though, tell tigerfeet. Reminds me of a Senior Officer who thought it would be good for morale to have a rowing competition along the river from Hereford to Worcester.

"The race will meet the Severn at Chepstow."
"Isn't that supposed to be Chepstow at 7?"
"Why?"
"No, the Severn!"
"Ah, Feck this. It's cancelled."

One for the new season…apparently.
This will be the first season since 1930-31 that none of Stanley Matthews, Peter Shilton or Gianluigi Buffon makes a first team appearance.
Beat that.

That is actually a brilliant statistic. I think there might be a tiny stretch of the imagination between Matthews & Shilton… Possibly. (Certainly not stating that as a FACT…)

Matthews made one league appearance during the 1964-65 season and Shilton made his league debut towards the end of the following season. Fact.

Interesting fact for half time.
Brentford have won more games at Stamford Bridge in the last seven months than Chelsea.
Beats watching crossbar challenge no?

Not a fact but funny nonetheless….
A Carlisle fan on the incumbent head of recruitment after a dismal season that left Carlisle almost relegated by February despite having signed almost half a new team in January to try and keep them up.
“The current guy can go…. He’d go to Newmarket and come home with a zebra”
Well it made me laugh.
