Whilst we are talking Josh Gowling, I'm not sure the best way to manage McLean is to substitute him practically every game. Agree, should be more often.

Our defence got found out yesterday. Just not good enough in their positions. At last one of our strikers found the net from open play 5mores games before another. They had two chances first half buried both of them. We’re lucky to get a throw in from our strikers shots on goal. No good Barnet flicking it on if the striker can’t get it on target. Five games to see it not good enough time for a change. Not the same starting eleven on Monday please we need to start learning.

I agree with the otter's dad. Get Haines out of the back four. He doesn't smell danger and doesn't understand there is no one behind him to mop up like when he is in midfield. The first goal could have been prevented if he had just smashed it away instead of teeing up their forward who buried it. Up the other end, when was the last time Barnett flicked anything on. He's a CF who never goes into the box. We have pace on the flanks but everything slows down when there is no-one in the box. Banbury swarmed all over us and none of their shots were skied. Bring in Jethro, move Sommer up the pitch and we need someone dangerous, with pace, in the box. Now the better coaches realise we have pace but no end product we are stuffed.

Dangerous, pace in the box = Adami-Holloway. I suspect. Showed plenty in 25 minutes on Saturday. Good pedigree too

Made a rare purchase of the non league paper (never usually get it when we lose), anyway just reading about Wealdstone. Very early days but they are second in the Conference. They are also part time. Including their manager who works for BT. Gets every Wednesday off. Fair play they are punching a bit.
EDIT: Sorry they are actually top.

No lessons learnt from Saturday, albeit only 48 hours later.
I suspect Gowling has 4-5 more games to get this right or he'll be out of work.

It’s agreed Gowling needs to deliver He’ll be delivering the Paper he writes for at this rate. Didn’t go and only listened but predicted 3-1,at half time When you get pulled apart by a Fylde or a Gateshead you have to suck it up but the opposition just made a couple fewer mistakes to win How bad is Storeys conversion ? Just no composure

Utterly abject performance.
Our defence is a shambles ( I may have mentioned this before)and it absolutely astounds me that this set up appears to be the best we have.
Only bright point was Larry-Fairweather who I thought was excellent.
Unfortunately I think Josh is out of time nice guy though he appears.
Our tactics (those that were discernible) appear to be long diagonal balls that don’t reach their target. I coached u11-u14 and we had more about us than that.
I’d hoped we wouldn’t have had to spend squad builder on paying off the management but after that in front of 2800 people I’m afraid time is up.

Gowling must go now or there will be no fans , 50000 grand player pot pissed up the wall Gowling should do the decent thing and hand in his resignation first thing tomorrow. This is his fourth season in a row of failure and he can't even moan about a lack of investment this time round.

I am pretty sure I could have copy and pasted this from the first home game, up until they scored, all good.
We were passing with purpose. Borderline crisp. We looked like our tempo was going to wear them down. Then they scored (awful goal to concede) then all of the above.
Gloucester way better than us second half, without being all that.
Their fans enjoyed it. The ones that could be arsed to make the long trip.
Enjoyed their fans singing that Edgar Street is falling down. After spending a decade away from the set of 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, only to be blessed with a ground made out of shipping containers with holes burnt out of them for the platinum grade fans at the back.

I never thought that in my mid fifties I'd get real proper angry again just by watching footy (sorry 'bout that), but after this weekend I am. On a couple of levels.
Saturday, I was angered more by the setup at Banbury rather than by the on-field performance of my adopted football club (though that was pretty sh!te, to be fair).
Today I have been angered by the on-field performance of my adopted football club, and the seemingly clueless nature of the club as a whole.
The Bank Holiday weekend has thus left me angry. I shall endeavour to remain angry until tomorrow morning at about 6am whereby I shall get up, consign the Bank Holiday weekend of 2022 to history, feed my cats, and go back to work.
Back of the net.

You are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Being down here getting angry at the football equivalent of a seaside sewer release, or staying up in Coventry and feeling all Waspy.

You're expecting him to drive back down from Grimsby to do that? Fair point. Gowling should do the decent thing and hand in email his resignation first thing tomorrow. But on a more serious note, doesn't it say it all about Gowling's lack of commitment that he has pig-headedly refused to relocate to the Hereford area in the 3 years he's been our manager? Little wonder our players show so little commitment when their boss sets such a bad example.

I don't think we can wash the Gowling line this time. It's not as if we got close last year. At what point does the mirror come out? Like maybe its you thats not good enough, Josh? Not up to managing a club that gets more supporters through the door than any other club in the league?
Get rid, give Burr a few games caretaker.
