The old Den of Millwall FC That bridge you had to go under to get to the away enclosure Even the name of the street Cold Blow Lane...send shivers literally down your spine... Not a fun place. I can imagine winning 1 - 0 there on a cold Nov/Dec night, coming out of the away end would not have been nice.

Ebbsfleet. Local headcase inviting everyone outside for afters. Aldershot. Bottles flying and smashing in the road along side us. Gillingham and that narrow alley to the away end, known locally as bomb alley. And they say away days are special days, emm…

One of our party compared a particularly bleak heathland as we approached Aldershot to "a war zone." Our first port of call after arriving in the town: The Crimea.
The HUFC support was later pelted with coins after the final whistle. One of our party was hit in the face by a 2p piece. F*cking cheapskates.

The 103 goal season when we played Aldershot twice at the end of the season was a bit spicy. For some stupid reason they had landscaped that sloped bit going up to the open end, and put all the turnstiles next to each other, resulting in a gravel equivalent of a snowball fight.
Thinking about it when they reformed in division 20 like we did they must have thought some quaint gravel beds would look awesome. It should be that way in fairness.

Poshest - North Leigh - in a country house estate in the Cotswolds
Roughest - Swindon Town (the magic roundabouts didn’t help)
Strangest - Swindon again but Supermarine, where the game could have been called off due to mass early evening bonfire smoke from the nearby allotments

Didcot was very welcoming.
I do a fair bit of work down there, complete shithole.

I like Weston, to be fair. Nice place for a day out. They seem to be investing all the cash you splashed in the arcade on loads of half decent stuff.

I was in Devon last week and someone found me an arcade to play in - I was staggered by the cost. Penny Falls are now 10p Falls - I got through £3.75 in seconds, with no return. I spent £2 in one attempt at shooting cowboys; the game lasted less then 30 seconds because I kept shooting the cowboy's wife, in spite of her protestations. The toys available in those grabber thingies are sh!te. It's 50p a go, or 3 goes for £1, but the machines don't accept pound coins. And who wants a cuddly fckn flamingo anyway? Flamingos aren't cuddly - gangly and awkwardly pink yes, but never cuddly. I remember the days when you couldn't win a packet of Embassy or a pound note wrapped around a (hopefully) spent round for 5p; a far better waste of money. The driving games are also sh!te. I kept crashing and the noise made me jump.

More sand on their pitch than on Weston-Super-Mare beach when the tide is out. Not a lot, then. Once you dig down through the mud, there's loads of sand in Weston. So I've been told.

There was a period 15-20 years ago when the Bristol Channel was being so over dredged for construction materials that it was having a visible effect on sandy beaches.
HPC are doing their best to alleviate it though by planning to dump loads of crap in it.

What's going on in Weston to indicate that it's on its way up?
Last time I went it was a shithole. Just like the 500 times before.
I'd quite like it to remain that way.

It just looks quite tidy. I think building several trillion houses between it and the motorway hasn't done it any harm.
The geology that those houses are all built on is some of the worst in the UK.
