Like others I don't blame either player for taking the chance to play at league level again, even if it may be a brief spell given Grimsby's perilous situation both on and off the pitch. What I'm curious about though is why Grimsby are sniffing around the players of Hereford FC, a club that's playing 2 levels below them and located at the other side of the country. Josh Gowling's (now deleted) Twitter account shows him as still living in the Grimsby area and as a former player for the club he's bound to still know a few people there. You know what curiosity did. It was a Ford Sierra in my case.

Coke on a standard part time contract, 7 day approach, nothing we can do even if we wanted to?
Shop must be on a tighter contract as I can't believe we'd stand in his way. Shirley, we can't be after a transfer fee?

Problem is, do HFC have an unhappy striker now?

Shirley, we can't be after a transfer fee? Need the money to repay the loans the club will be forced to take, for a pointless season, to run the club that could be mothballed until July, just because ..... exactly why ? Fans cannot go, so no well being benefit there. Plenty of professional sport on TV to view,if someone thinks they are having mental health issues. The players have other jobs, as at this level is just for fun. Any that are full time can be placed on furlough. Why force debt onto clubs, creating an unfair playing field for the future. If we're all "supposed" to be staying at home, why insist on certain people playing football whilst creating further financial and other problems. Absolutely no reason for football at this level to be continuing.

Problem is, do HFC have an unhappy striker now? All part of the negotiations? He told Gowling last week he doesn’t want to play for the club anymore. So will player power win? Pay as you play contract. I’ve been saying since August if we’ve got a football club to support in May I’d be more than happy. Without the Pandemic we’re in, I don’t know how many more comings and going’s I can take. No stability whatsoever. It’s was never easy following HUFC to say the least but at least Turner ran a steady ship.

Internet chatter that LJL is interesting Gloucester.
I think at this stage it is highly likely he's off. Would naturally rather him get another crack at a higher level.

He won’t be moving to a club at our level or below that seems pretty certain to me.

Contract until Summer 2022. Fair play. It's a shame but absolutely nowhere near level of Neil Grayson to Cheltenham disappoinment.

Was all about negotiations as I suspected.
Good luck to him. Sounds proper don't panic by Grimsby though.

Too good for our level TBF so good luck to him. He did a good job for us but was bound to move on if a club at a higher level came calling, especially for a manager he has worked with before

Hopefully they will have forgotten about this when we next play them in 2037. Failing that they won't make the link between HFC and whatever name we have got to by then.

Forever Factory Resetting FC By then, they'll have, belatedly, been awarded the UK City of Culture, so will have forgotten all about.
