Like us I don't think they have ventured much past painting over the rust since then.

No problem with Lendel Lewis going but it will be a great loss , however did he train with Grimsby as Coke was reported to have that's what I meant . They are professional footballers. Grimsby would give them an opportunity to go back full time and in League 2. No guarantee that Hereford will finish the season. Your post is pretty mean spirited tbh Fair point , both in their 30's so its probably their last chance at full time football .. both on decent money we don't need to replace Coke far to many midfielders anyway .

You would hope there is something written into the contracts of players saying that if they can’t play due to Covid/lockdown they don’t get paid their normal wage (because effectively the club don’t have an income as normal). So if I was offered a full time, higher wage I know what I’d be doing amidst all the uncertainty. Agree that if LJL does go it will be a big loss

LJL has to put his family first However doesn’t sound like he will be first choice striker and they could well be in the Conference next season We are a victim of the circumstances at our level sadly. Time for Josh to scour the conference sides subs bench for an unhappy forward

As should anyone else at HFC, or any NL player (or manager, JG won't be here long, too good for this level) who gets a better offer. If a club is unwilling or unable to get an asset on a contract, then fair play to them for moving on to better their career, or look after the family.

If LJL can go and get an 18 month contract then good luck to him. If he signs for 6 months then I am sure we would welcome him back.

This is now a good opportunity to sign two decent strikers. I am sure Lendel Lewis was on good wages and now the ineffective Mooney and previous to that Brown have department it gives the chance to move on . Its no excuse for signing dross such as Whittingham and most of the remainder of the bench players who quite honestly are not good enough .

If common sense prevails, no need to sign two strikers.

We never had this trouble when Richards and Harris were in charge, they knew how to keep their best players!
Sort it out Josh!

Like others I don't blame either player for taking the chance to play at league level again, even if it may be a brief spell given Grimsby's perilous situation both on and off the pitch.
What I'm curious about though is why Grimsby are sniffing around the players of Hereford FC, a club that's playing 2 levels below them and located at the other side of the country.
Josh Gowling's (now deleted) Twitter account shows him as still living in the Grimsby area and as a former player for the club he's bound to still know a few people there.

Not if he's on a contract and there is a fee involved. I'd suggest it's good business. However, was he on contract, are any of them? I've not got a clue.

Grimsby in a mess, ollie walked, maybe new owners, new manager, wants experience from people he/the club knows, rather than risk unknown

The two clubs are indeed at either side of England with a fair distance from one to the other. The same cannot be said of the players currently on the books of HFC. I don't profess to know where any of them reside but I have a distinct feeling thst the majority probably live closer to Grimsby than Hereford. I think ww has bemoaned this fact for some time and, TBF, he does have a point.
