This was the best match at Edgar Street during the existence of Hereford FC. There was a surfeit of end-to-end play. One would take ones hat off to the caretaker manager, especially, for giving his head to Tommy O'Sullivan who confounded the likes of reasonabull again. There's a lot of football in this boy. Shame on the critics who have booed him relentlessy... Gowling has a smile on his face and it is reflected by the players representing the club. Very good. Didn't win, howver, because they don't yet know how to win. Hall 8; Best home performance. Stopped us losing on at least three occasions. That's how you need to judge a goalkeeper. Almost as good as Wayne Brown today. Hodgkiss 7, Riley 7, Anderson 6 (the only left-footer in the side), Pope 6 (out of position but managed an assist for what should have been the winning goal; Cane 7 (anchored the midfield with some maturity), Owen-Evans 8 (bit more like last season), O'Sullivan 9; Mooney 8, John-Lewis 8, Liburd 7. There was a shape to what unfolded in front of us today. First time this season. Darlington 'keeper man of match. Diminutive number 9 not far behind. Bring back Symo. howver?

Drove past the ground this afternoon and the gates at the back of the Blackfriars End were open - the pitch looked pretty good from what I could see, so hopefully the game will go ahead. That being the case, I predict a 2-1 Bulls victory. Mooney and TOE to score, with an attendance not too far short of 2,384; 113 in the away enclosure. 3 Out Your Sh!t Aahhhhhhhh "You're" "Aaarrgghhhh"

See Mike, I'm not the only one who thinks Tommy gets unfair criticism. Although "This was the best match at Edgar Street during the existence of Hereford FC"

Probably O'Sullivans least bad game but ww rating him 9 against Mooney with 8 sums up his footballing knowledge.

Attendance dipped again today. Poor defensively for the first goal. We deserved to win however against a poor Darlo team today. Shop's goal a misdirected cross that drifted in with the wind into the far top corner. Swirling wind seemed to help us kicking towards the Meadow End in the second half. Mooney had a good game buoyed in confidence by two extra time goals last time out. Liburd seems unable to impose himself apart from a few headed flick ons. Good to see Thomas make a late sub appearance. Hall kept us in the game on more than one occasion. Shame about their late equaliser as we deserved to win. Sullivan played well today after wayward passing in recent games. Riley man of the match for me.Excellent all round performance having been out so long. Pope struggles at left back in defence. Did John the Toaster make the long trip today? He was Away Supporter of last year for me.

"Did John the Toaster make the long trip today" I'd be surprised if he did. He's a Blythe supporter.

3 match suspension for red card. "Entertainment" was the word that could be used for yesterday's game, a word that could be little used over the last two seasons Disappointed to draw in the end, I thought the midfield battled well, chased down the second ball particularly in the second half. Their keeper kept them in it but also Hall did for us. Hopefully give us some confidence going into March, with only one home game, and our record of drawing at home and getting beaten away...

Oh and one other point, did the pitch really require the sprinklers on before kick off............ It's not like we haven't had much rain over the last couple of weeks. Not criticizing our superb grounds man, just wondering who makes that decision.

Whilst not perfect, that was the best performance I have seen at ES this season. Suggests to me that Gowling/Burr are the ticket for the way forward. they have turned things around in a matter of weeks and got rid of some of the dross. Hope they get a full summer to recruit a few new players and lose the last of the dross. Could see us being in much better shape next season.
Agree Tommy Backpass had his least worst game in a Hereford shirt, but still not sure he is what we need in the middle of the park going forward. Thought Jagger Cane had a pretty decent game in a largely holding role, and TOE looked much better being allowed to play forward.
Does show we have wasted the best part of 2 seasons under Harris/Richards and Slade.

Does show we have wasted the best part of 2 seasons under Harris/Richards and Slade. Difficult to argue with that, except the last paragraph. It was not only a waste, it was unnecessary, completely avoidable and has undermined the momentum which will now be difficult to revive. If Burr can be persuaded to stay beyond the season end (assuming we manage to avoid the drop) it seems possible that the present management team can turn everything around for next season. Here's hoping.
