Barrie Meyer who played for Hereford United FC in the 1963 to 1964 season died today. I just thought I would start this thread in case anyone remembered him. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends.

Yes, I remember him (no doubt also will Ex).
First class cricketer and subsequently an eminent umpire at the highest level.
Good football player.
RIP Barrie Meyer.

Pro cricketer as well. Keeper for Glos for many years - one of the old 'steak in the gloves' variety.

Creative half-back?

RIP Barrie.
Old style inside forward, IIRC. I remember him scoring in an Easter derby match against Worcester, mid 1960s. I don't think he played many first team games.

Sad news. Remember him as a stylish right-half who took penalties. Regimental parting in his hair. Fine wicketkeeper when they were chosen more for their ability behind the stumps than with the bat.
