Kind of strange how there was so many views about JW before he joined and now no comments at all Just wondering how everyone thinks how he's doing??

He's doing fine. He's not got a proper partner in central defence, he's not got a proper out-ball, he's doing OK and he's going to get a lot better too. I like Jamie and wish him all the best.

Indeed. Thought he looked solid today. Showed he's able to clear his lines well and safely but also able to produced a tidy headed pass when needs be.

Make a much better captain than Edwards No need to change IMHO. I thought Joel was MoM yesterday, offered plenty going foreard, and the only one who showed any real urgency. But yes, Willets looks like exactly what we needed.

Barney, I agree that Joel had an excellent game, but that's not what we're talking about. If you were happy with the first 25 mins or so, then no, we don't need a new captain. But if you want a captain who doesn't just lead by example but also brings out the best in others, then maybe Jamie is our man. A captain who talks to the other and says "Come on boys, let's have some energy and urgency..." Agree that one way to do it is to show that energy and urgency yourself, and Joel did that. But the others were still mostly a bit sleepy for the first quarter of the game. And against the best sides in the league, in the biggest matches, you need a true leader. It is a debate worth continuing as the season progresses.

A true leader doesn't need an armband to bring out the best in others IMO. Id keep it as it is; when Jamie has played a few more games I'm sure he will become even more vocal and marshal that defence very well.

Imo a captain is as important of the pitch as he is on the pitch. You don't need to be vocal on the pitch to be captain as much as you don't need to be captain on the pitch to be vocal. Hope that clears that up Oh and JW is doing just fine. When you consider yesterday was his first home game in front of a big crowd, he did what he needed to do.

Solid start for Willetts. Need now to weed out the ageing ex-HUFC stars who are probably sucking up too much of the budget. There will be many others like Willetts at each level as we progress but no need to be sentimental.

J.W. was vocal, he made his presents known to his fellow team mates. He also suggested positional changes to them when they were standing around waiting for the ball to come to them, there was no natural outlet for him, but that will change I am sure, and I thought he distributed the ball pretty well. To many times I thought that the players stood around a bit waiting and not looking for the ball and many passes were behind the player and not in front enabling the said player to run onto the ball. Its a new team, time will tell.

Laughable statement, missed purdie's guile yesterday we didn't move the ball quick enough, the movement was non existent at times. Plus these "kids" will learn a whole lot more from jamo and purds alongside them than no amount of coaching would ever produce

I enjoyed the guile of Carlos at Heanor but he wasn't even rewarded with a cameo yesterday unless missed something.

You're right. Jamie should have said: 'I say now look here, some of these good people have travelled a jolly long way and it's only fair we put on a bit of a show from the first whistle. We need to pull our socks up and trot about a bit for each other, alright chaps? By the way, there's no point in looking sulky about it. You're not wearing mufty, you're in the famous white shirts of Hereford and it's about time you wore them with pride. I know some of you were taught football by Johnny Depp at Plymouth, I know some of you hardly know what to do with the round-ball at all. But you're going to learn, and you're going to learn fast. Otherwise I'm going to give you a damn good thrashing. That is all.'
