Just out of interest does anyone know which of the MPL clubs have grounds of the required standard to go up at the end of the season?

Highgate's ground is certainly of the required standard for going down.

Pretty sure Westfield's do,khalsa own a former northern league ground, and someone uses current higher league rushall Olympic's stadium, alvechurch are also a former southern league outfit so would pass, and Highgate are supposed to be moving to a new ground at some point according to someone I was speaking to at the match the other week.

Highgate would do well to move to "a ground." I used to play Sunday league in a field that had a better playing surface than that.

Is that all the clubs? So as long as we end up above those 5 clubs we will still go up?

We have it at Boldmere as do Quorn and Continental Star obviously. Shepshed, Long Eaton, Stourport either have it or would be ok. Rocester have been step 4 before Don't know if Westfields have it I'd expect Walsall Wood, Khalsa, Alvechurch and Coleshill to do whatever is necessary. Not been to Heanor or Bardon Wulfs is very nice but would need some work. Loughborough is new but may require tweaks Others would have various degrees of work to do for differing reasons.

Usually no chance of going up if you finish outside the top two, even if the top two fail the grading

That doesn't apply for promotion to step 4. You need an E grade to be promoted from the Premier, then D by the following March 31.

Just out of interest, what general upgrades are required for promotion to step 4? CCTV? a certain number of seats? Number of turnstiles?
